Old Subway Collectibles – Mouse P.I. for Hire Cheeseball Sub

The “Cheeseball Sub” mission is a key part of the game Mouse: P.I. for Hire, taking place in the Old Subway area. While completing this mission, players can find several collectibles, including three Newspapers, Comic Book #11, a Baseball Card, and three Schematics – all of which can be used to improve your weapons. Here’s a guide to the exact locations of all these collectibles in Mouse: P.I. for Hire.

All Old Subway Collectible Locations in Mouse: P.I. for Hire (Cheeseball Sub)

Ticket Booth Key

Once you’ve defeated the first enemies, go down the stairs. At the bottom, turn around and follow the subway tracks. You’ll find the Ticket Booth Key on a crate along the way.

This key is required to access several collectibles inside the ticket booth.

Schematic

Now, head back the way you came and use the Ticket Booth Key to open the door on your right. Continue along the path to reach the ticket booth, then enter the room containing the safe. You’ll find a Schematic on the bunk bed opposite the safe – it’s easy to grab once you’ve unlocked the door.

You can use Schematics to upgrade your weapons at Tammy’s Bearings.

Newspaper No. 26002

Mouseburg Herald No. 26002 is on the table in the ticket booth, near the ticket window.

Newspaper No. 28593

After you get the Tiny Hat, go into the next room and defeat all the enemies. On the east side, you’ll see a pile of crates you can climb to reach higher tracks. Behind the wooden barrier, you can find Mouseburg Herald No. 28593 sitting on top of one of the crates.

Baseball Card

Go back to the room with the crates and continue along the main path. You’ll pass a typewriter and reach an area with tracks. There’s a locked door here, and beyond it is a locker room. Inside the locker room, you’ll find the Daniel “The Rat-Ta-Train” Cruz card hanging on the clothesline to your right.

This locker room is slightly off the main path, making the card easy to overlook.

Schematic

Once you’ve made it through the flooded area, you’ll enter a room containing a hanging subway car. Break a window on the north side of the car to reach an office with a wall labeled “totally normal.” You can destroy this wall to uncover a secret passage leading to a dark area and another subway car. Go through this second car and walk to the front to find a Schematic.

Newspaper

Keep following the main path until you reach a dark area and turn on your flashlight. Once you’re in the second room of that area, look to your left – you’ll find the “Mouse: P.I. for Hire” collectible near some consoles.

Turning on the flashlight makes this collectible much easier to spot.

Comic Book #11

You can find this collectible after you beat Vic Gatore and get the Tail-a-Choppa. To reach it, use the Tail-a-Choppa ability along with a double jump to get on top of the stacked cars in Vic Gatore’s room, where the Comic Book is located.

Secret Figure

Go through the locked door beside the last typewriter in the level. Inside the room, turn on the switch to start a fan. Use the fan along with your Tail-a-Choppa to reach the platforms above. Once you’re up there, break the unusual-looking wall and grab the Secret Figure from the shelf. This collectible is pretty well hidden in Cheeseball Sub.

You’ll find the blueprints for the “Blueprints, Please” side job inside the abandoned subway car in this area.

Schematic

Dive into the water at the lower end of the room and swim through the underwater tunnel to find a safe. Interact with the safe to get the last blueprint for this area.

Do You Need All Cheeseball Sub Collectibles?

You don’t have to find every collectible in the Old Subway to finish the game. But grabbing the Schematics will help you play better, and collecting the Comic Book, Newspapers, and Baseball Card counts towards 100% completion. If you’re aiming to find everything, make sure to get those items before you exit the Old Subway.
