Strongest Characters Who Don’t Want The One Piece

The One Piece is the world’s greatest treasure, and nearly every pirate dreams of finding it. When Gol D. Roger announced he’d hidden it away, it sparked a massive new era of piracy, with adventurers from all over the world setting sail in search of it.

Not all characters in One Piece are driven by the desire for the ultimate treasure. Many have different goals and dedicate their energy to achieving those instead. Here’s a look at some of the most powerful characters who aren’t interested in finding the One Piece.

Whitebeard

  • Devil Fruit: Gura Gura no Mi
  • Haki: All three types

Edward Newgate, more famously known as Whitebeard, was considered one of the most powerful pirates ever to live. Although he sailed during the same era as Roger, Whitebeard earned the reputation of being the “strongest man in the world.” He ate the Gura Gura no Mi, a Devil Fruit that gave him the ability to create earthquakes.

Whitebeard was incredibly powerful, able to destroy an entire island without much effort. He was also one of the rare few who mastered all three forms of Haki. Despite this immense strength, Whitebeard wasn’t interested in finding the legendary treasure, the One Piece. Surprisingly, Roger actually told him where it was hidden, but Whitebeard never attempted to seek it out. His only concern was the safety and well-being of his crew, who he considered his family.

Davy D. Xebec

  • Devil Fruit: No
  • Haki: All three types

Davy D. Xebec led the powerful Rocks Pirates. Coming from the lineage of Davy D. Jones, he was incredibly driven and often took huge risks. He was known for daring acts like infiltrating Marijoa, killing a Marine Admiral, and even challenging Imu. Xebec was exceptionally strong, able to battle legendary figures like Roger, Garling, and Harald.

Xebec’s sword strikes were incredibly strong, like being hit by cannonballs, and he even used them to shatter the Gates of Justice. His mastery of Haki was so precise that when he fought Harald, the impact obliterated everything for miles around. Unlike many pirates, Xebec wasn’t interested in finding the One Piece; he wanted to rule the world, which is why he was determined to defeat Imu and take the throne.

Dracule Mihawk

  • Devil Fruit: No
  • Haki: At least two types

I’ve heard that Dracule Mihawk is considered the greatest swordsman alive, and it’s easy to see why that title wouldn’t come easily. It clearly takes a lifetime of training and commitment to reach that level. And it’s not just about getting there—he’s constantly challenged to prove he still deserves the title. But from what I’ve gathered, Mihawk actually welcomes those challenges; he seems to genuinely enjoy testing his skills against anyone who can put up a good fight.

During battles, Mihawk uses Yoru, an incredibly sharp sword considered one of the best in the world, capable of cutting through almost anything. He’s skilled with the blade after years of practice, allowing him to fight in various styles. Mihawk is also a master of Haki, specifically both Armament and Observation Haki. Despite being strong enough to find the legendary treasure One Piece, he simply isn’t interested in it.

Boa Hancock

  • Devil Fruit: Mero Mero no Mi
  • Haki: All three types

Boa Hancock leads the Kuja Pirates, a famously powerful and feared group. The Kuja are well-known for their mastery of Haki, and as their captain, Hancock is incredibly skilled with it – she can effectively use all three types. On top of that, she possesses the Mero Mero no Mi, a particularly strong Devil Fruit in the world of One Piece.

The Mero Mero no Mi doesn’t really have any weaknesses, making it incredibly hard to counter. While many think Hancock can only turn objects to stone, she’s proven she can affect things like the Pacifista as well. It’s clear Hancock is exceptionally powerful, and figures like Sengoku and Blackbeard agree. Someone as strong as Hancock could definitely compete for the One Piece, but she simply isn’t interested in pursuing it.

Trafalgar Law

  • Devil Fruit: Ope Ope no Mi
  • Haki: At least two types

Trafalgar Law is a fan-favorite character in One Piece, consistently ranking high in popularity polls, which demonstrates how much viewers love him. A big reason for his appeal is that he’s a very well-developed character with a compelling backstory and one of the most impressive Devil Fruits in the series. His Ope Ope no Mi ability is versatile and can be used in a variety of creative ways.

Law’s popularity also stems from his significant role in the story. After the time skip, he’s been featured prominently in several arcs, consistently demonstrating both his cleverness and strength.

This has also shown fans that Law is focused on discovering the true meaning of the ‘Will of D,’ and he isn’t interested in finding the One Piece treasure.

Urouge

  • Devil Fruit: Unnamed Paramecia-type
  • Haki: Unknown

Urouge leads the Mad Monk Pirates and is known as one of the ‘Worst Generation’ pirates. Since the two-year time skip, he hasn’t been featured much in the story. But one thing fans consistently acknowledge is just how powerful Urouge is.

Urouge has a Devil Fruit power that lets him convert any injury he receives into increased strength. He used this ability to defeat Charlotte Snacks, a powerful commander within the Big Mom Pirates.
