Start Job
You can begin the Fishy Business quest once you’ve completed “Saltwater Cambozo,” the main quest happening in Wallop Bay. Once that’s done, go to Little & Big, which is across from Pepper’s office in the P.I. Office, and talk to John Brown, the bartender sitting at the counter.
Search Wallop Bay for Canned Herring
You can find the canned herring in the center of Saltwater Camobozo, shortly after the water tower was destroyed. Here’s how to locate it in Wallop Bay:
- After destroying the water tower, follow the critical path to the next corridor with enemies.
- Defeat the enemies and pass through the gate that opens to the right of the large anchor. The objective will update to “snatch that reeker.”
- Pass through the building to reach a chasm that you must jump across.
- The canned herring is in the chasm.
Picking up the canned herring will hurt you, so be sure you’re at full health before jumping into the chasm.
Get This Thing Back to John
Once you have the Marina 8-ED Herring, keep going through Saltwater Camobozo until you finish the mission. After that, head back to the P.I. Office and talk to John Brown at Little & Big to finish the Fishy Business quest and get your reward: a Token.
Once players have collected 20 Tokens in Mouse: P.I. for Hire, they can open the Prize D-Spenser in Little & Big. The best way to get Tokens is by playing the Baseball Cards mini-game, and the D-Spenser contains a special reward.
Is the Canned Herring Missable?
If you finish the Saltwater Cambozo quest before finding it, you’ll miss the canned herring in the Fishy Business quest. Completing Fishy Business isn’t necessary to finish the game, but it does contribute to your overall progress. If you’re aiming for 100% completion, make sure to collect the canned herring before you leave Wallop Bay.
