How to Get Lightningblade and Storm Fang in Crimson Desert

The Lightningblade of Greed is a special sword you can obtain by defeating Sizlek the Insatiable, a boss found in the Crimson Desert. Reaching Sizlek requires completing most of the side quests for the Hernand faction, and some of those quests also require you to advance the main story. If you’re interested in getting this weapon – or the Storm Fang Abyss Gear – in the Crimson Desert, here’s a guide to help you through the process.

Crimson Desert Lightningblade of Greed Location

Before you start, you’ll need a Kuku Pot and the Focused Force Palm skill unlocked.

You can find Sizlek in the Ruined Chapel, located in the Steel Mountains region of Hernand. But before you can battle him, you’ll need to finish most of the side quests for the different groups in Hernand. The quests can be a bit tricky to complete in order, as some depend on finishing others first. A good strategy is to complete all the quests you can for one group before moving on to the next.

Refer to this image to see how many side quests for each sub-faction you must finish before the final two quests in Hernand Parish of Solumen become available.

The questlines that directly lead to the fight against Sizlek are:

  • House Grace
  • The Eldertree (House Celeste)
  • Kharonso Troll Alliance (the one where you fix the destroyed barrier stones)
  • What the Stars Left Behind (Scholastone Institute)
  • Legendary Hunter (speak to the Wandering Freesword in Lioncrest Manor)

Okay, so after finishing up everything else, you’ll want to open your map and turn on the ‘Quests’ setting – that way you can see all the quests nearby. You should see a quest marker for ‘Mysterious Arrow’ down south of Hernand, near Glenbright Farm. Head over there, pick up the arrow and read the note you find. Then, it’s off to the Ruined Chapel to take on Sizlek! Beat him, and you’ll get a sword, his crown, and something really cool called Shadow Gloves. These gloves let you steal stuff for a whole minute without anyone noticing – super handy!

Lightningblade of Greed Stats

  • Attack: 13
  • Critical Rate: 1
  • Attack Speed: 3
  • Refinement: 1
  • Abyss Gears: Attack Speed 1, Attack Speed 2

These stats reflect the additional bonuses provided by Abyss Gears.

The Lightningblade of Greed doesn’t work quite as expected for you. Unlike Sizlek, it won’t inflict any lightning damage. Essentially, it behaves like any other sword that automatically increases your critical hit chance. If you’re looking for a weapon that consistently shocks enemies, the Electro-Mecha Longsword is a better choice. Getting that one also requires defeating a boss, but you won’t need to finish any quests beforehand.

How to Get Storm Fang in Crimson Desert

The real reward for defeating Sizlek is the Storm Fang Abyss Gear. This gear makes your lightning attacks also release chain lightning, hitting multiple enemies. To obtain it, you need to defeat Sizlek and then extract the Abyss Gear from the Goldbranch Plate Crown, which drops at the same time as the Lightningblade of Greed.

Okay, so I found out something cool about Storm Fang! It’s awesome, but it only works if you put it into your armor, and it only activates when you use attacks that have an elemental effect. Basically, you need to unlock the Lightning element first in Crimson Desert. To do that, you have to complete this whole chain of Abysses – it leads you to the Courtyard of Precision, and then you can actually use Storm Fang. It’s a bit of a process, but totally worth it!
