The Broken Musket is a special item in the game Windrose, but you won’t be able to use it immediately. It’s part of a quest called Glorious Hunters, which you’ll probably find as you explore the beginning islands. Once you finish the Glorious Hunters quest in Windrose, you’ll receive a brand new musket, so it’s worth completing fairly early on.

Windrose Glorious Hunters Quest

This quest involves discovering the fate of some pirates who disappeared in the Coastal Jungle. It begins when you find or examine specific items – such as the Broken Musket – within Abandoned Buccaneer camps. You’ll need to investigate three camps, all of which have the same layout and marked locations on your map. Visit each camp and search for clues.

Okay, so if you’re new to this game, let me tell you, be prepared for a fight! You’ll be stumbling across aggressive wild boars pretty much everywhere, especially when you’re checking out the different camps. And just when you think you’re safe, you’ll have to take on pirate ships! Seriously, it’s action-packed from start to finish, so get ready to battle!

Abandoned Buccaneer Warehouse

You’ll find the evidence in a chest located on top of the ruined warehouse. Be careful of the boars near the building—you can either fight them or run past. Climb the broken walls to reach a wooden platform, where you’ll find the chest containing the Damaged Flask and a page from Marcel Boucher’s Diary. Don’t forget to search all the chests before you leave, including a hidden one behind a secret door that opens with a large button on the nearby wall.

Destroyed Buccaneer Fort

To proceed, you need to find a chest at the top of the ruined watchtower. First, eliminate any enemies inside. Then, climb to the top and look for a plank extending from the edge. Use this to jump across to the other side of the tower. Inside the chest, you’ll find the Torn Hat and Marcel’s Last Letter.

Abandoned Buccaneer Camp

Your goal at this camp is to locate a chest holding the Broken Musket and Marcel Bouchier’s Diary – you’ll find it on the first floor of the main building. While you’re there, feel free to explore and open other chests for extra loot. Once you have everything you need, head to the Buccaneers’ main camp by ship.

Rogue Buccaneer Base Camp

Find the Rogue Buccaneers on your map – the quest marker will show you where their base is. It’s probably on a distant island, so you’ll want to build a larger, well-equipped ship before you head over.

Okay, so once I got to the camp, I needed to find Henri Boucher – he had a little marker over his head to help me spot him. I handed over the Broken Musket and the other evidence, and then he gave me my next mission: take out three groups of Blackbeard’s pirate ships. Honestly, this part was pretty straightforward. I just made sure my ship was fully upgraded, brushed up on my sea battles, and then went hunting for those pirates!

After completing that step, go back to Boucher. He’ll reward you with the Buccaneer’s Friend, a rare blue musket that’s incredibly accurate when you aren’t moving. If you upgrade it to Epic quality, it will also deal extra damage to animals.
