Okay, so jumping into ARC Raiders for the first time? The maps are seriously overwhelming! You’ve got buildings everywhere, tons of doors to check, and those ARC robots are already on your tail. Honestly, it’s tough just figuring out where to begin, it’s a really tricky start.
This area felt like the central point to me, but after exploring for a while, I discovered some great places to find valuable items – you just need to know where to look.
The traffic tunnel can be risky, but it’s a good place to search because it’s guarded by stationary armored vehicles. If you can find a key, you can open one of these vehicles and get some reliable loot! Let’s head in and take a look.
Where to Find the Key
You need a key before you can enter the Traffic Tunnel. There are two ways to obtain one.
The simplest way to get a Patrol Car Key is by finishing the “Prime Specimen” quest from Shani. Completing this quest not only gives you the key, but also starts a new quest called “Armoured Transports.”
If you’ve lost your key, you can try looking for one at the security booths near the Blue Gate Checkpoint. But keep in mind, it’s first come, first served!
Where to Find the Patrol Car
Entering the Tunnel
There are a couple of ways to reach the Traffic Tunnel. You can head directly north from the Checkpoint, but be warned: at the start of the match, a lot of enemies will be clustered there. Trying to go alone is very risky.
Instead, you can descend into the tunnels using the many ziplines and ladders above. It’s safest to stay near the tunnel walls, as the floor is usually filled with ARC units – and sometimes even more!
Opening the Car
Once inside, focus on finding the armored patrol vehicles. These are larger and more heavily built than the standard cars you can break into.
Only around eight of these cars will respond to the key. You can quickly identify the one with the treasure by looking for the light above the rear door.

Not all containers in the Blue Gate area will have items in them. It’s totally random and resets each time you enter the map. That’s why it’s crucial to head down to the traffic tunnels quickly – they’re a popular looting spot with patrol cars, so you’ll need to be fast to get the best items.
Always start the map with a personalized loadout. This ensures you begin each round at the very start, instead of joining in progress.
If you need to search quietly, look for a glowing light and bring a photoelectric cloak. Don’t stop at the first unlocked car you find—check others too. Search completely around the traffic tunnel, and you should be able to find at least one.
As soon as you find a lootable car, use your key, and you will find a guaranteed Gun Cache inside.
