Tom Lee Says Bitcoin Rally Is ‘Precursor’ to S&P 500

As an analyst with over two decades of experience in the financial markets, I find Tom Lee’s recent analysis on Bitcoin and the S&P 500 intriguing. I’ve seen my fair share of market cycles, and I must admit that Lee’s interpretation of investor sentiment as “pro-risk” resonates with me. The current rally in Bitcoin could indeed be a precursor to broader market movements, as it often indicates a shift towards riskier assets.

During a recent interview with CNBC, Fundstrat’s Tom Lee has opined that Bitcoin‘s rally is a “precursor” to what the S&P 500 index is going to do for the rest of the year. 

According to Lee, the recent rally shows that investors are “pro-risk.”  

Bitcoin’s rise also shows how much capital has been idle over the last couple of years. 

Over the next three weeks, investors will have a lot of microdata to digest. 

On Friday, for instance, the Bureau of Labor Statistics is expected to release its jobs report. 

Lee thinks that investors are anxious that the forthcoming employment report might be excessively robust.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) report for the previous month will be released on Dec. 11. 

Finally, the Fed is going to announce its rate decision on Dec. 18. According to Polymarket, 

He suggested that after these current occurrences, it might be possible for investors to consider investing during the traditional year-end Santa Claus rally.

As suggested by Lee, the most optimistic scenario for 2025 is one that involves the minimum number of price reductions, as these are expected to extend the current upward trend or bullish cycle.

According to U.Today’s reports, Bitcoin reached an unprecedented high of $100,000 on Thursday. Yet, it has since dipped and fallen short of maintaining that highly anticipated benchmark.

Earlier, Lee repeatedly predicted that Bitcoin would be able to hit $150,000 this year.
