Since the Shinju didn’t appear beyond Mamushi, it’s now clear that Sasuke won’t be back for a while, and this pushes back the expected return of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto, even further – likely beyond 2026. This means fans will have to wait even longer to see Naruto again.
Naruto Uzumaki’s Current Status In Daikokuten Dimension
Currently, Naruto Uzumaki is trapped in a special dimension called Daikokuten. This happened at the end of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga when Kawaki sealed him away, believing it was the best course of action. Kawaki wanted to get rid of both the Otsutsuki clan and Boruto, and he thought sealing Naruto and Hinata was the only way. Importantly, time doesn’t pass inside Daikokuten, so Naruto hasn’t aged and remains as powerful as ever.
Honestly, it’s been almost three years since we’ve seen him, so things are definitely different now! From what I understand with the current storyline, Naruto coming back really hinges on Boruto and Kawaki having a showdown, and that just doesn’t seem to be on the horizon right now. It’s a bit frustrating as a fan!

How The Mamushi Arc Delays The Seventh Hokage’s Comeback In Two Blue Vortex
The Mamushi storyline was important for Boruto because it briefly hinted at Naruto Uzumaki’s return. When Mamushi attacked Konoha, many fans thought Jura and Hidari would get involved in the fight. If they had, Jura – who knew where Naruto was – might have tried to reach the Daikokuten dimension and rescue him. Jura was particularly interested in asking Naruto about things like love.
Jura and Hidari weren’t featured in this recent story arc, but they’re expected to play a role in the next one. With Mamushi now resolved in chapter 33 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it’s looking less likely that we’ll see Naruto Uzumaki in the manga at all this year, especially given the delays in Jura and Hidari’s storyline.
Breaking Down The Timeframe For The Return Of The Child of Prophecy
While Naruto Uzumaki likely won’t be back in 2026, his return feels inevitable at some point. Currently, the story suggests Sasuke Uchiha will return first. This will involve the Konoha ninjas needing to take the Thorn Soul Bulb from Hidari. With Mamushi now defeated, Hidari is expected to be the next Shinju to fall, paving the way for Sasuke’s return at the end of the current Boruto arc.
Sasuke is expected to return around late 2026, and Naruto will likely follow in 2027. This could be triggered by Shinju Jura, or possibly by the long-anticipated fight between Boruto and Kawaki. Whatever happens, Naruto and Boruto seem destined to remain in the Daikokuten dimension for a while longer, though the story suggests a return is becoming increasingly probable with each new chapter.
