Abragames’ Aims to Foster Brazil’s Game Industry Into a Long-Term Ecosystem

Abragames, the Brazilian Game Developers Association, will be at Gamescom Latam 2026 to highlight the growing Brazilian game industry. They aim to establish Brazil as a leading center for game development, both within the country and on the world stage. This effort is backed by Brazil Games and ApexBrasil, the agency responsible for promoting Brazilian trade and investment.

Visitors to Gamescom Latam 2026 will have the chance to play 36 games developed in Brazil. These games will be showcased at booths across the event, with 14 created by studios affiliated with Abragames and 22 coming from an Accelerator program. All the games highlight Brazil’s culture alongside engaging gameplay, and a select few are particularly noteworthy.

Gamescom Latam 2026 will showcase a variety of exciting games, including Starlit World, an action-adventure game where you explore to save the world, and Kakele Online, a 2D online multiplayer game available on both mobile and PC since 2020. Another highlight is EDEN’S FRONTIER, a pixel art action RPG with a comic book expanding its story. These are just a few examples of what attendees can play.

The games industry is incredibly competitive today, making it hard for any single game to stand out. Abragames is working to strengthen Brazil’s game development industry, building a sustainable and respected local scene while also increasing its visibility on the world stage, according to Abragames president Rodrigo Terra.

Events like the Brazil Games Business Speed Meeting help Brazilian game studios connect with international investors, present their work, and find new opportunities. Similarly, the Abragames Pitch Arena 2026 is a competition where finalists can gain international recognition and access events in 2027.
