This holiday season, the highly sought-after game Marvel Rivals is set to feature a special Christmas-themed event! The exciting news was shared today (16th) by NetEase Games. The festive celebration kicks off on December 20th and runs through until January 9th.

Titled “Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival,” this upcoming event will introduce a unique gameplay mode that bears resemblance to Splatoon, where two teams compete by using the shark to cover as much map terrain as possible within a set time frame. The team that paints the most territory wins.

Beyond this theme, the team plans to roll out fresh theme-based costumes for characters such as Venom, Rocket, Jeff, Groot, and Magic. In line with the holiday cheer, Jeff’s costume will be offered free of charge.

The team has hinted at unexpected elements, yet specifics remain undisclosed. Regardless, there’s been an ongoing dialogue from the player base via social media, suggesting improvements such as a pre-match hero category selection feature, the opportunity to vote on maps, and striving for a more balanced character roster. The event is generally well-received, but these demands indicate areas for potential enhancement.
