It Takes Two: All Achievements (& How To Get Them)

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that this list of mini-games in “It Takes Two” is nothing short of extraordinary! From striking a pose like a true Instagram influencer to riding dinosaurs and battling seals for fish, these games offer a delightful mix of fun, creativity, and sheer absurdity.

In the newest title from Hazelight, It Takes Two, cooperation is key and the game has exceeded all expectations. Despite being a heartwarming tale of an estranged couple transformed into dolls, the game offers a rather enigmatic approach to its achievements/trophies. Each accomplishment comes with a succinct description that leaves players wanting more clarity on their progress.

Such statements are abstract, for instance, “perform a spectacle, and perish bravely”. It is unsurprising that participants have faced difficulties in reaching their goals due to phrases like these. However, this issue can be mitigated.

One trophy from this collection, Power Couple, isn’t included here. You earn this special accomplishment by collecting all the others first.

How To Unlock Every It Takes Two Achievement

A Daring Devil Achievement Guide

After defeating the Moon Baboon boss in Rose’s Room, players can explore and discover a vintage toy car located before a slope. Above the slope hangs a ring-shaped object. One player is tasked with climbing into this toy car, while another winds it up by pulling the car backwards.

Make sure you don’t overdo it or else the person inside the vehicle might miss the target (hoop). As soon as someone passes through the hoop, they’ll earn the reward (achievement).

Break The Bank Achievement Guide

Once you locate the car within Rose’s Room, continue along the narrative course. After some time, players will encounter an location featuring a piggy bank filled with loose change nearby.

Players should deposit all their coins inside the piggy bank. Once the bank is completely filled, they’ll have to leap onto it and perform a ground-punching maneuver. This action will break the piggy bank and grant them an accomplishment.

Bug Sized Relaxation

As soon as the players progress to the Garden stage, they’ll encounter a boss battle with The Burrower. Following the boss battle, the players will discover themselves within a relaxing spa structure.

In simple terms, the bath is directly ahead. To earn the achievement, both players simply need to step into the bath.

Faraway Frequencies

In the Rose’s Room section, gamers must conquer portal stages to ascend to Moon Baboon. These portal stages consist of two distinct levels. Upon reaching the second group of portals, players are required to enter the golden portal. Inside this portal, they will discover a cozy area filled with pillows.

To obtain the achievement, both contestants must ascend the highest tower and locate a frequency device there. Upon adjusting each of the four frequencies, they’ll earn their reward.

Force Triangulated

At the spot where the Platforming Prodigy trophy is earned, players can board a vessel. Eagerly, they’ll step into the boat together. As they journey through, they’ll pass by a door. Along their route, they’ll spot a house nestled by the side of the track.

To earn the achievement, players should enter the house situated before them first, and later they can disembark from the boat to explore (the house containing numerous breakable pots filled with precious gems, a nod to The Legend of Zelda).

Fried Friendship

As a cinephile, I’d say: Friendship can often slip by unnoticed. In the second act, the characters will discover themselves ensnared in a tree, facing torment at the paws of squirrels. Once they manage to escape their arboreal ordeal, they’ll stumble upon a chamber adorned with a blue button. A wise old scientist squirrel advises them to overlook this peculiarity. However, if one character dares to jump onto the button, it will transport them into the chamber. The other character can then activate additional buttons to inflict various forms of torment on their friend. This dastardly act will reward the characters with the ‘torture’ achievement.

It Took Two

The core concept of this game revolves around TEAMWORK – a crucial aspect that players need to employ in order to successfully finish the game. Reaching the final stage will grant both players this specific achievement. It’s not an effortless feat, friendships might be strained, but discovering it without prior research is quite straightforward.

Look At Him Go

Within the very same platform that grants the Faraway Frequencies achievement, players have an opportunity to acquire the Look At Him Go achievement. As the game progresses, you’ll stumble upon a catapult. When it’s Cody’s turn in control, he should hurl May upward to the platform above.

First, Cody needs to move to the base of the catapult and reduce himself to his tiniest form. After that, May will stomp on the top of the catapult, launching Cody away from its orbit and towards the cosmos.

Lost And Found

As the narrative unfolds, the characters will encounter a frosty village by a frozen lake later on. Across the lake, they’ll stumble upon a distressed mother turtle who has lost her offspring. To encourage the baby turtles to hatch, players must initially activate the towers that surround the lake first.

After the tiny turtles hatch, it’ll be the players’ task to guide them towards their mother. In this clutch, there are a total of four baby turtles that need to be returned. When all four are safely with the mother, the players will earn the achievement.

Meditation Maestro

When players reach the Attic level, they’ll encounter an outdoor scene with floating white clouds above. Equipped with jetpacks, they should approach a big tambourine in the open space ahead. Near the tambourine are two seats. Jump onto these seats and engage with them. As both players do so, they will take a seat and meditate peacefully. This action grants them an achievement or trophy.

Minigame Megalomania

An easily graspable accomplishment is the Minigame Megalomania achievement. To earn this, players simply need to locate every mini-game within the game ‘It Takes Two’. However, the challenge lies in finding all twenty-five mini-games that ‘It Takes Two’ offers.

Exploring every aspect would fill an entire write-up, yet there’s no shortage of mini-games for players to discover. Many of them are conspicuous; just listen for the sound of a tambourine.

Mood Swing

In the very same winter-clad hamlet, adventurers will stumble upon a bell tower positioned on its left flank. Upon activating this bell tower, the frozen part of the village will thaw. Beneath the bell tower lies a charming swingset, where someone is already seated. The adventurers have the ability to sprint towards this swingset and employ their magnetic powers to set it spinning. Once the swing spins for a while, the accomplishment will be unlocked.

On Rails Experience

Another section of the castle’s courtyard features a circular train track. To earn the On Rails Experience award, players merely need to follow the train and hop aboard when it passes by. The achievement will automatically appear on the screen once they do so. For those who want to push themselves further, they can race towards the engine and speed up the train.

Plastic Prison Breakers

In homage to Hazelight’s earlier game, A Way Out, they incorporated an achievement that pays tribute to Vincent and Leo. This achievement is attainable during the pillow fort segment of chapter 3, Roses Room. As players progress along their path, they will come across a flashlight that can be manipulated by them.

On the right side of the flashlight, you’ll find a stairway constructed from pillows. Walk up this staircase and it will lead the players to two action figures. To earn the achievement, both players must simultaneously press the buttons located there. Additionally, they will be treated to a dialogue exchange between Vincent and Leo.

Platforming Prodigy

In the “Cuckoo Clock” section of the game, the characters will encounter a quaint hamlet. Within this hamlet, they’ll notice a signpost pointing towards the ominous Helltower. At this point, the characters need to press the buttons in front all at once. After pressing the buttons, they’ll have to ascend the tower, which boasts rotating walkways and might present a challenge for players not accustomed to platforming-style gameplay.

When a gamer ascends to the highest level, they’ll be granted the trophy or accolade. It is important to note that every player needs to climb to the summit in order to obtain this trophy; unlike some other trophies, where even one player earning it results in both players receiving it.

Realize Your Art

Upon entering the castle courtyard, players will discover a space brimming with artistic tools. This creative nook offers engaging activities such as leaping into paint pools and treading on large sheets of paper. Within this area, there seems to be a printer, leading one to think it’s for printing out artwork. However, that’s a misconception. To unlock the achievement, players must dive into the backside of the printer where they’ll find two rotating gears. Jumping in will cause them to get squashed and printed out instead.

Snackosaurus

While traversing Rose’s Room, travelers will encounter an area marked by a dinosaur-themed scene. This section is easily identifiable as the train they are riding will collide with a dinosaur’s face. In this level, one player will have the opportunity to jump onto the back of a dinosaur and navigate through it, while another will operate a long-necked dinosaur.

The individual commandeering the long-necked dinosaur has the ability to choose ‘bite’ to consume another player. Upon consuming another player using the dinosaur, an achievement will be unlocked.

Something Fishy

In the Snow Globe stage, you’ll encounter a spot where you need to dive into the water. This plunge will transport you to an underwater station. Upon resurfacing, you’ll notice a boat involved in a mini-game. Use the harpoon launchers on the boat to catch fish. Once you’ve caught some fish, feed them to the seals to unlock the achievement.

Struck A Pose

As they navigate through the same chapter as the torture chamber, players will stumble upon a conspicuous camera. Given its location along their route towards the wasp nest, it’s tricky to overlook. In front of this camera stands a backdrop featuring squirrels and a tree. Players have the liberty to approach various spots in the backdrop and strike a pose. If one player decides to interact with the camera, they can either snap pictures using the lens or press the timer button to capture an image of both players together. Once photos are taken, don’t forget to display them on the virtual wall for all to see!

Terror Of The Seven Seas

At the very spot where players earn the Something Fishy achievement, they can also uncover the Terror of the Seven Seas achievement. Upon breaking free from the icy expanse, players should explore their surroundings until they come across a distant pirate vessel.

After that, the team members can move towards the pirate vessel. Upon reaching, they should search for a treasure chest located at the rear end of the ship. Interacting with this chest will prompt a player to open it and acquire a pirate hat. Wearing the hat will not only be a fun experience but also unlock an achievement for the player.
