Best Celebi ex Meta Deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

As a seasoned Pokémon Trainer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the Celebi ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket is nothing short of phenomenal! The combination of Serperior’s Jungle Totem ability and Celebi ex’s Powerful Bloom move creates a dynamic duo that can leave opponents gasping for breath.

In the initial stages of Pokémon TCG Pocket, specific meta decks held significant power. However, the arrival of Celebi shifted the meta deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket, and here’s a guide on our top-tier deck along with instructions on acquiring it.

The Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Mythical Island expansion introduced an entirely new collection of cards. In addition to the fiery new ex pulls and breathtaking Full Arts, there’s one card that truly shines—Celebi ex. Although Mew graces the cover of Mythical Island, Celebi ex possesses a unique charm that makes it indispensable for top-tier grass decks.

Here’s a breakdown of our top-tier Celebi VMAX deck strategy, along with guidance on obtaining the Celebi card and maximizing its potential.

How to Get Celebi ex in Pokémon TCG Pocket

In the world of Pokemon TCG Pocket, you can acquire Celebi-EX either by opening booster packs from the Mythical Island, or by utilizing Pack Points to create it yourself.

As a fan, I must admit that unlike the coveted Mewtwo 10 card promotion, there’s no unique challenge to obtain a Celebi ex. Instead, you either need to open a Mythical Island booster pack and hope for one of the various ex designs to appear, or accumulate 500 Pack Points (not Genetic Apex) and use them to purchase it directly.

Best Celebi ex Meta Deck to Win in Pokémon TCG Pocket

The best Celebi ex meta deck requires two each of Celebi ex, Snivy, Servine, Serperior, one Dhelmise, and one copy of Mystical Island’s Exeggcute and Exggecutor.

Grass decks are boss, but to get the top cards, they’re normally Two-Stage Evolutions—which isn’t ideal in a very RNG-orientated card game. So, for my best Celebi ex deck, I want a good mix of Basics and later evolutions.

Best Celebi ex type alternatives in Pokémon TCG Pocket

A strong contender that could replace Celebi ex is undoubtedly Venusaur ex. However, obtaining this powerful card might require a bit of good fortune.

With your deck’s focus on Serperior, you can quickly energize your Venusaur EX fast. Many players might find this advantageous since Venusaur has a remarkable HP of 190, surpassing Celebi EX’s HP. This added durability makes the card more resilient. Although its Giant Bloom attack deals ‘just’ 100 damage (for an EX Stage 2 Pokémon), it also restores 30 HP with each attack, extending its lifespan.

Why is Celebi ex Deck so Powerful in Pokémon TCG Pocket?

In this performance, Celebi ex takes the spotlight. The reason for this is that Serperior’s Jungle Totem ability functions similarly to Gardevoir, but in a grass-type context. Each Grass energy attached to your Pokémon provides double the amount of Grass Energy. However, this effect does not stack. In essence, Serperior with Jungle Totem is like the grass version of Gardevoir, but you can only have one Serperior using Jungle Totem at a time.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that you can now pile energy onto Celebi-EX, amplifying its Powerful Bloom attack into a formidable force! Here’s how it works: For each Energy card attached to this Pokémon, flip a coin. This move deals 50 damage for every time the coin lands on heads.

In your quest, concentrate on enhancing your Celebi ex while simultaneously hurrying through Snivy’s evolution process to reach Serperior. Having multiple copies of each highlighted Pokemon increases our chances of acquiring them more swiftly. To round off the deck, Dhelmise serves as an excellent Basic due to its high HP, and if you haven’t already obtained Celebi ex, its main attack can also be effectively charged up.

Ultimately, I lean towards the Mystical Island version of Exeggcute and Exeggutor for a couple of reasons. Though I’m fond of Exeggcutor’s EX card from Genetic Apex, it was quite reliant on luck, and its ex status potentially results in a two-point deduction. The Mystical Island Exeggutor boasts 130 HP as a non-ex (which we appreciate), and its main attack can be powered up through Serperior.
