As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel like we’re living in a golden age of cross-platform gaming. The news about more PlayStation-exclusive games coming to Xbox Series X|S next year has me practically buzzing with anticipation!
Xbox owners could be getting their hands on more PlayStation-exclusive games in 2025.
According to the latest update by Jez Corden of Windows Central, it’s been hinted that there will be additional games, originally exclusive to PlayStation, joining the lineup for Xbox Series X|S in the upcoming year.
It’s no longer unexpected that PlayStation exclusives will appear on Xbox, given the trend of both parties publishing games on each other’s platforms over the past few years. For instance, Genshin Impact, initially console exclusive to PlayStation since 2020, was finally launched on Xbox in 2021. Similarly, Predator: Hunting Grounds, a PlayStation exclusive, became available on Xbox in 2024 after spending four years as a Sony-exclusive title.
At the moment, it’s uncertain whether Corden is talking about games developed by Microsoft themselves (first-party games) or games created by other companies (third-party games) that will appear on Microsoft’s gaming consoles.
Conversely, in addition to its own offerings, Microsoft will be releasing exclusive games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5 in 2025. It is also speculated that Forza Horizon 5 might appear on this platform too.
