Ripple USD (RLUSD) launch date finally revealed
Following a prolonged period of anticipation, the launch date for Ripple’s stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), has been unveiled by the Ripple community. As per an official statement from the blockchain firm based in San Francisco, the stablecoin is set to debut today, December 17th. In the near future, RLUSD will be accessible on prominent cryptocurrency trading platforms such as Uphold, Bitso, and MoonPay. According to U.Today, this eagerly awaited stablecoin received approval from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) last week. As mentioned by Ripple President Monica Long in her recent blog post, the introduction of RLUSD signifies “a fresh phase” for both the XRP Ledger and Ripple. Meanwhile, a senior executive at Ripple, David Schwartz, urged caution when discussing the stablecoin’s potential price, stressing that its supply will balance out swiftly.

Satoshi about to surpass Bill Gates
Due to the recent spike in Bitcoin‘s value, the elusive inventor of the pioneering cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto, is now estimated to be worth around $106 billion, placing them among the 16 wealthiest individuals globally and surpassing Michael Bloomberg. This newfound wealth could potentially make Satoshi even richer than Bill Gates if Bitcoin’s price continues to climb. As reported by U.Today yesterday, Bitcoin hit a record high of $106,533 and is currently valued at $107,616. However, it is uncertain whether Satoshi is an individual or a collective, which complicates the determination of their wealth ranking. Furthermore, Chainalysis data suggests that Satoshi may control approximately 1.124 million BTC; however, this figure might not account for all relevant Bitcoin wallets.

According to Shibburn’s tracking platform, the Shiba Inu community has significantly reduced the number of SHIB tokens in circulation by burning them over the last 24 hours. The rate at which these tokens were burned increased by approximately 2,000% during this period, with a total of 20,035,968 SHIB being incinerated. The largest transaction alone accounted for more than half of that amount, burning over 11 million SHIB, while the second biggest transfer burned around 8.8 million SHIB. However, despite Bitcoin reaching an all-time high recently, the price of Shiba Inu has remained relatively unaffected. At the time of writing, a single SHIB token is being traded at $0.00002723, showing a 1.51% increase over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
