- Celebi ex is considered OP in Pokemon TCG Pocket with its Powerful Bloom ability.
- Celebi ex is compared to Misty and can deal a maximum of 990 damage per turn.
- Obtaining Celebi ex in the new Mythical Island set is challenging due to its rarity.
As a seasoned Pokémon TCG Pocket player with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest addition to the game, Celebi ex, has certainly shaken things up! Having played through countless sets and metas, I’ve seen my fair share of powerful cards, but Celebi ex seems to be a cut above the rest.
Players of the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket consider Celebi ex to be one of the game’s powerful overpowered (OP) cards following its release in the recently unveiled Mythical Island mini-set, enriching the collection with more than 60 new cards.
Similar to Genetic Apex, the inaugural Pokémon TCG Pocket set, Mythical Island introduces a fresh wave of sought-after cards. Included are five EX cards, 10 high-rarity full art cards, and two EX cards with exceptionally low drop rates of 0.04% and 0.2%. As enthusiastic Pokémon TCG Pocket players seek out these new potent cards, they’re experimenting with possible combinations and harmonious synergies to design innovative decks. Moreover, the community has chosen a card as one of the potential breakout stars in the game’s strategic landscape.
According to Dexerto, players have realized that Celebi ex is overpowered in the Pokemon TCG Pocket game, potentially ranking among the strongest cards. The main factor contributing to this is Celebi ex’s ability, Powerful Bloom, which lets the player flip a coin for each energy attached to Celebi ex, dealing 50 damage every time they get heads. Another reason is the potent combination it can create with Serperior, a new card modeled after Snivy’s final form. Equipped with Jungle Totem, Serperior offers two Grass-type energies for each energy of that type attached to a Grass-type Pokemon, boosting Celebi’s damage even more.
Celebi ex is Pokemon TCG Pocket’s New Mewtwo ex
Some players are starting to compare Celebi ex to the character “Misty” in the Pokemon Trading Card Game, due to this card’s ability to potentially dominate matches. Others note that the combination with Serperior brings to mind the frequent pairing of Gardevoir and Mewtwo ex in competitive play. However, despite some players suggesting that Celebi ex and Serperior can inflict “infinite damage,” Redditor Tumpixel0 demonstrated this isn’t entirely accurate. In a private match, they and their brother tested the combo and found that the maximum damage per turn is 990, which is still an extremely high number.
In the game, players will find it challenging to obtain Celebi ex due to its scarcity. There are three versions of Johto’s Mythical Pokemon in the game, all of which are incredibly rare. The regular immersive card has a drop rate of only 0.2%, while the ex full art and the regular ex cards have a 0.05% and 0.3% chance of being drawn. Players who possess Celebi ex should be aware of Aerodactyl ex, another card from the new Pokemon TCG Pocket mini-set, as it poses a significant threat to Celebi ex’s combo since it hinders Snivy and Servine from evolving. Players may need an alternate strategy to handle this challenge.
