Final Fantasy 14: How to Get A Half Times Two Hairstyle

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say that Final Fantasy 14 has always been one of my favorite MMORPGs due to its immersive storytelling and character customization options. The hairstyles in this game are simply unparalleled, and the A Half Times Two is no exception – it’s a showstopper!

One area where Final Fantasy 14 stands out, apart from its compelling storyline, is its character customization options. Square Enix’s renowned MMORPG offers a vast array of personalization choices for players across the globe. From the distinctive Eorzean races to an assortment of dynamic hairstyles, and not forgetting the seemingly infinite variety of gear and outfit glamours.

In the world of Final Fantasy 14, customizing hairstyles is highly sought after, and none more so than the intricate A Half Times Two style. Despite its attractive design, acquiring this stylish ‘do can be quite the tumultuous task.

How to Get A Half Times Two Hairstyle in Final Fantasy 14

In the game Final Fantasy 14, you can acquire various character hairstyles through multiple methods. These include earning them from rewards at the Gold Saucer, Island Sanctuary, Ishgard’s Firmament, or even during different types of combat content like Variant Dungeons, Field Operations, Alliance Raids, and so on. However, the ‘A Half Times Two’ hairstyle is exclusive to a newer form of battle content that may pose a challenge for some players who are Warriors of Light.

To get the ‘A Half Times Two’ hairstyle released with Dawntrail’s Patch 7.15, you need to participate in and clear the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance Raid, not once but at least a few times. The first duty of its kind in Final Fantasy 14, Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) is a unique and difficult battle that pits 24 players against the classic and beloved Final Fantasy boss herself, the Cloud of Darkness. To be able to queue and participate in this duty, you must first fulfill the following prerequisites:

  • Level 100 combat class with Item Level 710 or above (same requirement as Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden)
  • Complete the “Dawntrail” Main Scenario Quest
  • Speak to the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal at (X:11.1, Y:14.7) to unlock the duty in your Raid Finder

Earlier noted, Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) can be added to your queue through the Raid Finder section (not Duty Finder), which you’ll recognize by a green monster icon. Choose this option and it will appear in the list below. You can either let the system automatically place you in a group, or you can join a pre-formed party via the Party Finder, much like with standard Alliance Raids such as the Jeuno series inspired by Final Fantasy 11.

After finishing the Cloud of Darkness Chaotic quest, you might get either the Clouddark Demimateria I or Clouddark Demimateria II tokens. These tokens can be exchanged with Uah’shepya, located at X:8.7, Y:13.5 in the Nexus Arcade, for a host of appealing prizes. One such reward is the ‘A Half Times Two’ hairstyle, which will set you back 49 Clouddark Demimateria II tokens.

It might appear tough to obtain so many totems from such difficult battle content, but there are two strategies to boost the likelihood of these items dropping after a win. Firstly, when at least one new player joins an instance of Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) that has been queued, the rewards post-clear are enhanced based on the number of fresh players involved. Secondly, during specified timeframes throughout the day, limited-time bonuses may occur which boost the drop rate of items overall.

Here’s another way to put it:

Additionally, rest assured that this hairstyle can be applied to both Viera and Hrothgar characters, regardless of their gender. If you’re looking for a fresh change in appearance to complement this new style, the game provides regular Fantasia options at no cost to players due to continuous graphical updates.
