As a long-time fan of The Sims franchise and a recent enthusiast of MySims: Cozy Bundle, I couldn’t be more thrilled with Electronic Arts’ latest update for this delightful spin-off. Having grown up playing the original MySims on the Wii and Nintendo DS, it brings back a wave of nostalgia to see its return on the Nintendo Switch. The addition of the teleport feature, Pointer Speed slider, and increased item limits have made my creative building experiences even more enjoyable.

In the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, Electronic Arts has rolled out an update for “MySims: Cozy Bundle.” The December 2024 patch notes encompass new features planned for 2025 and address concerns from the community that are under investigation. Since the launch of the “MySims” bundle, the developers have been tirelessly working on resolving various bugs. They express their hope that these fixes will encourage players to re-immerse themselves in their creative endeavors during this festive time.

The game “MySims” is a spin-off from Maxis’ popular series “The Sims,” first launched in 2007 for Wii and Nintendo DS systems. A re-release in 2008 expanded the game to PC and mobile platforms, while the “Cozy Bundle” came out on the Nintendo Switch in November 2024. Meanwhile, “The Sims 4” is hosting a Cozy Celebration for the holiday season, and players can earn an ugly holiday sweater by completing the fifth set of quests. At the same time, the update for “MySims: Cozy Bundle” will provide an escape for players during this winter season as well.

In the latest update for MySims: Cozy Bundle last December, Electronic Arts unveiled some exciting improvements and bug fixes, as detailed in their blog post. One of the standout additions is the new “teleport” feature, enabling NPC characters to bypass obstructions and find a safe path when they get stuck during navigation. For those who love designing their own homes within MySims, this update boosted the number of items you can place by 50% for both exteriors, furniture, and interiors. To top it off, a Pointer Speed slider has been added to the Options menu, giving players more control over the sensitivity when navigating the game.

MySims: Cozy Bundle Receives December Patch

  • New Teleport Feature
  • Pointer Speed Slider Added
  • Increased Placed Item Limits By 50%
  • Fixed Memory Leak Issues
  • Fixed Issue When Players Get Stuck Fishing
  • Fixed Issue With NPCs’ Voice Pitch

The latest update for the “Cozy Bundle” resolved several issues such as memory leaks, players being unable to move while fishing, and a peculiar bug that prevented players from naming their Sim “Sam”. Furthermore, it also provided solutions for NPCs stuck in pursuit quests, a problem where NPC voices altered pitch, and the unwanted multiplication of NPCs. Lastly, a separate fix was implemented to correct a problem with the randomization of skin tones, enabling players to continue customizing their characters’ appearance fully in “MySims”.

The “MySims: Comfort Set” was unveiled as far back as August, introducing both the original “MySims” game and its sequel spin-off, “MySims Kingdom,” onto the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, Electronic Arts (EA) has disclosed a fresh addition set to roll out in early 2025. To cater to those experiencing motion sickness, there will be an option to disable automatic camera rotation following the upcoming update. Furthermore, the developers are working diligently to address community concerns, such as NPCs that fail to reach Best Friend status in “Kingdom,” which is expected to be rectified through a subsequent patch.
