Slime Island Location In Dragon Quest 11

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for RPGs and a soft spot for the Dragon Quest series, I must say that “Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age” is a gem in the vast landscape of video games. The open-world map is a breathtaking expanse, brimming with secrets waiting to be uncovered, and Slime Island is one such hidden treasure.

In Dragon Quest 11, an expansive open-world awaits players, swiftly revealing itself with multiple travel options, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Though the primary narrative guides you through significant areas, numerous off-the-beaten-path locations are ripe for discovery and can easily slip by the unobservant explorer.

A notable spot in this game is called Slime Island, but it’s known by another name elsewhere. This island offers an excellent space for harvesting various types of slimes and boasts a high frequency of metal slimes even at the start of the game. Remember to save your progress after defeating some slimes; here are the directions to reach it.

Where To Find Slime Island In Dragon Quest 11 (Insula Orientalis)

On Slime Island, also known as Insula Orientalis, you’ll soon discover that it’s indeed Slime Island due to every adversary spawning here being a slime. To locate this spot, advance the main story first, ensuring your party acquires a ship. Once you’ve made some progress and the entire open sea is accessible for exploration, you’ll find yourself at Slime Island.

Navigate your way towards the distant north-eastern part of the chart, specifically to an island that seems to float off the coast. Utilize either Holy Water or Holy Protection to ward off less formidable creatures and facilitate a smoother journey to this remote destination. Upon arrival, you’ll find yourself at Insula Orientalis by sailing into its western dock and disembarking onto Slime Island. As your adventure unfolds, the adversaries of Slime Island will grow in strength, making it an ideal location to revisit.

Insula Orientalis is not a fast-travel location, so you’ll have to sail there every time.

How To Find & Beat Metal Slimes On Slime Island In Dragon Quest 11

Nearly every Slime found on this island offers a substantial amount of XP, making it an excellent location for leveling up, particularly when you first have access to travel here. Keep in mind that Metal Slimes won’t show up in the overworld, so engage in battles with anything you encounter. If certain enemies don’t appear and your agility with Erik is high enough, feel free to retreat.

If you come across any Metal Slimes, prioritize using the Metal Slash with the Luminary or anyone wielding a sword, coupled with attacks that maximize critical hits such as Critical Claim or Jade’s Lightning Thrust. This is because a critical hit will instantly eliminate them. Frequently farming these weaker Metal Slimes can provide you with Molten Globules, potent crafting materials for creating top-tier weapons and armor in the game.
