How To Get The Kashyyyk Star Map in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

As a seasoned spacefarer who’s traversed galaxies and fought interstellar battles, I can confidently guide you through the labyrinthine process of acquiring the Kashyyyk Star Map. The path is fraught with danger, but fear not! For those who dare to venture into the shadowy recesses of this Wookiee homeworld will be rewarded with cosmic knowledge that could very well change the course of your journey.

The epic saga titled “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ” is a timeless masterpiece that has garnered a massive fanbase due to its captivating narrative, engaging combat systems, diverse weapon options, and the numerous alien planets it unveils. If you’ve obtained the Sith Armor in Taris and advanced far enough into the game to make Kashyyyk one of your stops, you might be curious about how to access the Star Map there.

To obtain the Kashyyyk Star Map in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, you should initially secure entry into the treacherous Kashyyyk Shadowlands, a dense and rudimentary planetary terrain. Once there, engage with several characters and confront powerful adversaries to locate the Star Map, bringing you one step closer to the Star Forge.

How To Get To The Kashyyyk Star Map

Upon setting foot in Kashyyyk, you’re likely to encounter difficulties. It turns out that Calo Nord, who managed to survive the destruction of Taris, is seeking retribution. However, this situation arises only if Kashyyyk is the initial planet you visit during your Star Map quest; otherwise, you would have encountered and defeated him on another planet prior to Taris. Once you’ve handled Calo Nord, proceed through the Shadowlands, and you’ll come across Jolee Bindo engaged in a skirmish with a band of Katarns. Offer assistance and engage in conversation with him.

Jolee will ask you for assistance in handling some Czerka hunters who are located Northeast of his home. In exchange, he promises to aid you. To locate the hunters, simply follow Jolee’s instructions and you’ll discover their camp quickly. Once there, you have three options: either refrain from killing them (which Jolee requests), negotiate with them to make them depart, or collaborate with them. Regardless of your choice, Jolee will assist you and join your party. However, if you choose to kill the hunters, you’ll accumulate Dark Side points, so if you’re playing a Light Side-only run, it’s best to avoid violence.

After taking care of the Czerka hunters, head back to Jolee and inform him that the task is complete. He’ll then join your group, adding another formidable Jedi to your team. Continue towards where you encountered the Czerka hunters and keep moving forward until you reach a glowing purple energy barrier. Jolee will temporarily disable it so you and your allies can pass, granting you access to Kashyyyk’s Lower Shadowlands.

Stepping into this zone, I can’t help but notice a fierce battle unfolding between some Mandalorians and a Wookiee. Jumping into action, I aid the Wookiee by taking down these Mandalorians. I then offer him a Medpac to help heal his wounds. If he asks for assistance later on, he’ll task me with eliminating more Mandalorians in the area for a reward – it’s entirely up to me whether I choose to accept or decline this optional side quest.

Continue investigating the Lower Shadowlands region of Kashyyyk, and you’ll encounter various intriguing sights. Among them is a Wookiee named Chuuundar who was sent to attack you (but surprisingly turns out to be his father), a powerful creature, and undoubtedly, the Kashyyyk Star Map. You’ll recognize the star map when you arrive at what looks like a holographic control panel guarded by a Rakatan figure, which is marked as “Computer”.

How To Answer The Guardian’s Questions

Much like the riddles in Naga Sadow’s tomb on Korriban, the security measures for this star map will challenge you in multiple ways. After a brief conversation, the holographic guardian may decide to test your worthiness by comparing your responses to those of the previous user. You’ll need to answer four specific questions correctly:

  • Answer to question 1: I’m unsure what Zaalbar would say. I would accuse him to be safe.
  • Answer to question 2: I prepare my forces to attack in ten days. I do nothing in the city.
  • Answer to question 3: That’s right. The deaths of those people would spur my forces on.
  • Answer to question 4: I let the attack happen.

By answering these questions correctly, the guardian will let you see the Star Map. But if you’re up for a tough fight and an additional 1,200 XP, you can intentionally answer incorrectly. This will lead the guardian to declare failure, triggering a termination protocol with two spider-like droids armed with energy shields. The battle is challenging, but rewarding. If you win, the guardian will acknowledge that you’ve met certain conditions after observing your combat skills. Regardless of the path you choose, you’ll end up with the Star Map—a situation offering advantages either way.
