This coming Friday will see the release of The Lion King: Mufasa, with expectations that it could earn approximately $50 million over the weekend.
Disney Also Topped $2 Billion in 2022
Could it be possible that Disney possesses an annual magic touch? Despite a seemingly ordinary 2023, Mickey Mouse and his companions shone brightly in 2022, raking in over $2 billion that year. Marvel spearheaded this success, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever being one of the highest-grossing films of the year, earning $438 million. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness followed closely behind with a gross of $411 million. Remarkably, even with negative reviews, Thor: Love and Thunder managed to pull in an impressive $343 million.
