Okay, so the Flammenfalle Trap is only found in the Totenreich map, and honestly, when I first started using it, it seemed a little complicated. But trust me, don’t let that fool you! This thing is seriously powerful. If you want to get to the really high rounds, you pretty much need it in your strategy.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Flammenfalle Trap and its capabilities, we’ll explain its two functions, show you how powerful it is, and share a strategy for using it to survive for many rounds.
There’s more than one way to survive high rounds in Totenreich. Besides the Flammenfalle Trap, you can also use the powerful Kneehigh Helm to transform into a Gnome!
How to Use the Flammenfalle Trap in Totenreich
Heat-Infused Buff Zone
You can activate the Flammefalle Trap by spending 1,000 Essence. Doing so creates an orange aura on the ground that you can safely stand within. Once activated, the trap has two main effects.
- You have infinite Jotunn Star Charged Shots.
- You are protected from blizzards.
This trap works well during Frost Zombie rounds when you’re outside, or if you want to rapidly fire the Jotunn Star’s powerful explosive shots. Keep in mind, though, it’s not always effective – the blast might not eliminate all zombies, and you could quickly be overrun.
Roast Foes with a Blast of Flames
Close to the Flammefalle Trap, you’ll find a panel on the wall you can use to turn the trap on. It costs 1,000 Essence to activate, and once it’s on, the Flammefalle will continuously shoot flames from its three nozzles for 40 seconds.
For 40 seconds, any zombie that comes into contact with the fire will be instantly eliminated, regardless of the current round. Keep in mind that Necropincers are an exception – they still need to be damaged, as the fire won’t kill them immediately, so don’t forget to deal with them!
We suggest using the wall panel trap because it instantly eliminates zombies. If you’re on Beacon Island near the Lighthouse, you can safely activate the trap from a corner and watch it take out all the zombies nearby.
