Summary

  • Shikamaru’s unique strategy to defeat the Shinju involves befriending and betraying them.
  • Konohamaru successfully gains the trust of the Shinju to separate Ryu and Matsuri.
  • Kawaki confronts Amado to unleash his full power, setting up a potential major battle.

In a natural and easy-to-read manner: The seventeenth chapter of “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex” has officially been published, and it’s come as a bit of a shock to fans because this month’s installment was quite slow. Compared to the intense previous chapters of Boruto, the pace hasn’t been particularly fast, but considering that the manga has been delivering battle after battle in the initial stages of “Two Blue Vortex”, it’s understandable.

Indeed, fans were eager for action right away following the cliffhanger at the end of the last chapter. But let’s make it clear that the excitement surrounding the Boruto series hasn’t waned in any way. This month’s installment, however, has certainly delivered some intriguing twists, and given these developments, it seems highly probable that the upcoming TBV chapter 18 will be centered around intense battles.

Shikamaru’s Master Plan Is Finally Revealed In Boruto: TBV Chapter 17

  • Shikamaru shows how he differs from Naruto
  • The plan is to betray the Shinju

A significant aspect of this month’s Boruto chapter revolves around devising a method to vanquish the Shinju. Last chapter, viewers witnessed Konoha guiding Team 7 towards Sunagakure, where their objective is to defeat the two Shinju threatening Gaara. On the surface, this seems like an enticing battle, but in reality, it’s a potentially lethal mission for Konoha ninjas. Readers are aware that the Shinju possess immense power. Their fighting skills outmatch any living ninja at present, except perhaps Boruto Uzumaki. Nevertheless, Team 7 is being dispatched to engage these formidable adversaries. It’s evident that they must possess a hidden ace up their sleeve, and in Boruto: TBV chapter 17, we learn that Shikamaru intends to employ an unusual strategy to defeat them.

Get close to them. And then, betray them! – Shikamaru

As Shikamaru suggests, our initial approach should be to foster a friendship with the Shinju. He likens the Shinju to a newborn baby in terms of their nature – they are not inherently malicious. Rather, it will take them some time to develop their thoughts and make a decision about whether they wish to follow a path of good or evil.

Shikamaru plans for Konohamaru to bond with the Shinju first, then, once he’s established trust, quickly attack them all at once. By doing so, they stand a chance of defeating the Shinju in this battle, although it won’t be easy. The Shinju are powerful opponents, but if they can land a critical strike, they could significantly weaken them. This strategy is challenging, regardless of how it’s executed, which makes the upcoming Boruto chapters intriguing. It will be fascinating to see if Konohamaru and Team 7, together with the Sand ninjas, can successfully carry out this plan.

Regardless of whether their plan succeeds or not, they have already fulfilled the first part. Shikamaru intends for the Shinju to be separated. With them having trusted the Konoha ninjas, they are already separated, and it is time for Ryu to fall first. As Shikamaru predicted, the first battle that fans will see is going to be that of the two ninjas from the Leaf, that is, Sarada and Mitsuki, combining their strength with Araya and Yodo. These four ninjas are going to be up against Ryu, and they will end up defeating him first. Then, the remaining members are going to regroup with Shikamaru, and together, defeat Matsuri. At the very least, this is how Shikamaru envisions this battle to go on paper. Hopefully, things will get clearer in the upcoming weeks, but, at the very least, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 17 set up a very exciting clash for the fans.

Konohamaru and Team 7 Get Started

Konohamaru Befriends The Shinju Successfully

In chapter 17 of the “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” viewers witnessed Team 7 springing into action. Joining forces with the Sand ninjas, they quickly caught the Shinju’s attention. To everyone’s astonishment, the Shinju did not show any hostility towards them. This is because humans pretend to be unaware of their existence and also share a mutual objective: pursuing Boruto. Additionally, Matsuri’s affection for Konohamaru adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that she will not cause them immediate harm.

We’re looking for Boruto Uzumaki. And you? – Konohamaru

Readers are expected to witness the evolution unfold throughout upcoming chapters, and it promises intrigue as we discover just how far Konohamaru might deviate from Naruto’s teachings, potentially acting in a manner that could be perceived as betrayal.

Regardless of that, at the very least, Konohamaru has kickstarted the mission successfully. He has gained the trust of the Shinju, and at the same time, has separated Ryu and Matsuri. The first phase has gone successfully without any issues, and the second phase will now see Ryu being dealt with first. The goal is to obtain the Thorn Soul Bulb, and this bulb is then going to be taken to the tree which Shinki is enclosed in. Once this bulb is put in the tree, Shinki will return and Ryu will cease to exist. A similar logic applies to Matsuri as well. Once the bulb is obtained, Moegi can finally be freed. This battle is going to be incredibly exciting, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what comes next in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Kawaki Makes His Move In TBV Chapter 17

It Is Time For Kawaki’s Full Power To Be Unleashed

In this month’s chapter, viewers finally caught a peek of Kawaki. As Boruto had previously hinted that Amado was restricting his powers, it wasn’t entirely unexpected. Now, armed with this crucial insight, Kawaki decided to pay Amado a visit and challenge him about it. This confrontation forced Amado to showcase his full might, but given the gravity of the situation, it won’t be a walk in the park. Fans can anticipate that Amado will ultimately comply, but not without demanding something from Kawaki first. He might ask Kawaki to seal a Karma on Delta beforehand. It’s going to be tough, but fans are excited to see how this plays out.

Remove all my limiters. Right now. – Kawaki

No matter how this situation unfolds, fans are confident that Kawaki will regain his full power shortly. Once he does, there’s a chance he might challenge Jura, which could potentially lead to catastrophe for the entire village of Konoha. Here’s hoping that chapter 18 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex provides some clarity and perhaps even sets the stage for the most epic battle in the entire manga. All we can do is wait with bated breath for this anticipated showdown to unfold.

You can access Boruto, the ongoing series, through Viz Media. Fans can read it officially and at no cost on both the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps. Mark your calendars for January 20, 2025, as that’s when the next chapter, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 18, will be released.
