Coach Potter Commits to Coaching Evil Geniuses VALORANT Through 2027

As a dedicated fan following Evil Geniuses (EG) since their early days in esports, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the news of potter’s contract extension! The three-year deal through 2027 is a testament to her unwavering commitment and leadership that has guided EG to numerous victories.

VALORANT coach Christine “potter” Chi has renewed her contract with Evil Geniuses for a further three years. This means that she will remain with the team until at least the 2027 season.

As I wrap up 2024, I’m pumped to announce that my team, Evil Geniuses, has finally filled out our roster! We’re getting ready to make some noise in the 2025 VALORANT Champions Tour season for the Americas league. Bring on the challenges and let’s show them what we’ve got!

Evil Geniuses Seek Return to Championship Glory

Potter signed a three-year, “max-length” contract with Evil Geniuses through 2027. The only other coach in VCT Americas with a contract through 2027, per the Global Contract Database, is 100 Thieves’ Anthony “Zikz” Gray. Zikz, a long-time coach in League of Legends who switched to VALORANT, was potter’s assistant coach during EG’s unexpected world championship run in 2023. The assistant coach for EG last year, Mike “pho” Panza, has also returned for the 2025 season.

In a press statement today, Evil Geniuses CEO Chris DeAppolonio referred to Potter as the “crucial element” of their VALORANT team. He expressed that there’s no one else he’d rather have leading the way. With Potter’s guidance and enthusiasm, Evil Geniuses will consistently aim for the VALORANT World Championship.

With Potter’s re-signing, EG has wrapped up its offseason preparations for the upcoming 2025 season. The team decided to bring back Derrek “Derrek” Ha, Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison, and Phat “Supamen” Le from last year. Newcomers Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and Jacob “icy” Lange were unveiled on Friday, with the exception of icy who was already on the team’s reserve list at that time. Apart from icy, Potter is the only player left from the Champions roster of 2023.

Over the offseason, every single one of the 12 teams participating in VCT Americas underwent adjustments to their initial lineups.
