May 2026’s free PlayStation Plus games are now available to all subscribers! If you have PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium, you can claim three new games for both PS4 and PS5 and keep them as long as you stay subscribed and claim them by June 2nd.
PlayStation Plus subscribers get a few free games to download at the start of each month (usually the first Tuesday). In April 2026, the free games included Lords of the Fallen, a remastered collection of the first three Tomb Raider games, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream. Now that May 2026’s games have been released, those titles are no longer available to claim. But if you already downloaded them, you can keep playing as long as you remain a PlayStation Plus member.
All PS Plus Essential Games for May 2026
- EA Sports FC 26 (PS4, PS5)
- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5)
- Nine Sols (PS4, PS5)
Starting today, May 5, 2026, PlayStation Plus members can download three new games: EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols. This month, Fallen Feathers is only available to those with a PlayStation 5. Both Nine Sols and EA Sports FC 26 can be played on both PS5 and PS4. PlayStation had announced it would stop offering PS4 games on the basic PlayStation Plus tier as a way to improve the service, originally planning to start this January. However, subscribers are still receiving games for both consoles each month.

PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will have access to only three free games – EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols – until the next set of games is released next month. If you have a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscription, you’ll have access to even more games. While the full list for May 2026 hasn’t been announced yet, several games were added last month, including Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, The Crew Motorfest, Football Manager 26 Console, and Warriors: Abyss. These titles are still available, and more games are expected to be added soon.
As a PlayStation Plus subscriber, it’s always a bit of a bummer when games leave the service, even with new ones being added each month. PlayStation just announced that five games will be leaving PS Plus Extra in May 2026. Specifically, Control: Ultimate Edition, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, Soul Hackers 2, Sand Land, and Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition will all be gone on May 19th. Unlike the free monthly Essential games, these won’t be available to play even if you already downloaded them once they’re removed from the catalog, so if you want to play them, you’ll need to do so before then!

Good news for gamers! This month promises a lot of exciting releases. EA Sports FC 26, the newest football simulator from EA, has received generally positive reviews, scoring a 77 on Metacritic. If you prefer challenging action games, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a popular Soulslike title from last year, is worth checking out. And for something unique, Nine Sols offers fast-paced, Sekiro-inspired combat with beautiful hand-drawn graphics and a deep story. It’s a critically acclaimed 2D action-platformer.
