As a seasoned analyst with over two decades of experience in the crypto market, I have seen countless trends and fluctuations that have shaped this nascent industry. The recent news about the significant burn of SHIB meme coins is indeed intriguing, especially given the surge in the burn rate by 1,634.41%.
My personal life experiences have taught me to approach such developments with a mix of skepticism and curiosity. On one hand, it’s heartening to see the SHIB community actively participating in burning coins, thereby potentially increasing the coin’s value. On the other hand, I find it challenging to ignore the fact that these burn transactions are being performed by anonymous whales.
However, what catches my attention most is the ambitious plan of Shytoshi Kusama to launch a podcast series with 44 episodes. Given his mysterious persona and the cryptic nature of SHIB’s development, I am eagerly looking forward to unraveling the “something very important” he plans to reveal in these podcasts.
Lastly, I can’t help but chuckle at the irony that a meme coin like SHIB is making significant strides in the crypto world while traditional financial institutions are still grappling with understanding blockchain technology and its potential. Perhaps one day we’ll see SHIB listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average – now wouldn’t that be a howl-arious turn of events!
According to Shibburn’s data, it appears that a significant quantity of SHIB tokens has moved from active use and ended up in wallets that cannot be accessed anymore over the last day.
A significant number, estimated at around 40 million Shiba Inu tokens (SHIB), were destroyed in a single transaction carried out by an unidentified large holder (whale). The bulk of these tokens appear to have been eliminated in this transaction.
31.4 million SHIB burned anonymously in one go
Today’s tweet from Shibburn reveals an impressive surge of 1,634.41% in the burn rate for the second most popular meme coin, SHIB. In total, this has resulted in a significant 32,567,798 SHIB tokens being removed from circulation, thanks to the dedicated efforts within the SHIB community.
Over 31 million Shiba Inu coins (SHIB) were irreversibly burnt in a single action, having been transferred to an address where they cannot be spent. This transaction was set off by a mysterious ‘whale’ who is a passionate supporter of SHIB.
1-hour Shiba Inu Update:

* Price change over 24 hours: +6.27%
* Market Capitalization: $13,386,574,644 (a rise of 6.33%)
* Total Supply: 589,257,088,533,288 tokensTokens Burned:
* Over the past 24 hours: 32,567,798 tokens (an increase of 1634.41%)
* Over the past 7 days: 44,033,392 tokens (-33.68% decrease)— Shibburn (@shibburn) January 3, 2025
On New Year’s Day, Shibburn provided a summary of the 2024 impact by detailing the amount of meme coins removed from the circulating supply in the previous year, totaling an impressive 44,623,604,014 SHIB. This value, when converted to fiat currency, was just under $1 million. Yet, within the comments section, numerous SHIB supporters expressed their reservations, stating that a significant portion of the SHIB supply may take several years to be burned off, and they are not willing to endure such a long wait for the coin’s price to surge exponentially.
Concurrently, based on the same data reference, it was reported that the Shiba Inu community successfully incinerated approximately 2,679,767,542 SHIB tokens in December.

In the podcast, Kusama intends to share with the audience about Shiba Inu (SHIB), highlighting the SHIB team’s recent technological milestones and their current projects, as well as discuss a crucial point. Additionally, he plans to touch upon the upcoming debut of the TREAT token.
