Cardano Founder Actively Working on RLUSD Integration

As a crypto investor, I’m excited to share that Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has disclosed ongoing conversations between his team and enterprise blockchain company Ripple. The topic at hand is the potential integration of Ripple USD (RLUSD), a stablecoin by Ripple. In his recent post, he expressed that these discussions are not just happening, but we’re “actively talking.

This occurs during conversations on social media regarding the lack of integration of well-known stablecoins like USDC within the Cardano ecosystem.

As a researcher, I found myself reflecting on a potential partnership that the Cardano Foundation, based in Switzerland, had considered in 2021. However, discussions with Circle, the entity behind the stablecoin USDC, unfortunately did not result in an agreement, as reported by Hoskinson.

Simultaneously, Hoskinson has turned down the suggestion of IOG financing ecosystem projects, arguing that the company’s earnings aren’t public funds, but rather their own profit.

The digital currency known as RLUSD, introduced just a month ago, is swiftly gaining popularity, having been listed on platforms like Bitstamp and Bullish. According to Ripple’s President Monica Long, there are plans for additional exchange listings in the coming days.

Hoskinson has repeatedly praised the RLUSD team, claiming that they are “smart professionals.”  

Yet, it remains unclear if a method exists to incorporate the stablecoin onto the Cardano blockchain at this time. While it’s currently accessible on Ethereum and XRP Ledger, Ripple has hinted that the product may be compatible with additional blockchains in the future.

If it’s possible to smoothly incorporate RLUSD into the system, Hoskinson expressed his intention to delve into this topic as a contribution to the community. He emphasized that Cardano would greatly benefit from a robust stablecoin ecosystem, including USDM, Djed, and potentially RLUSD.
