He then joined Santa Monica Studio, where he became a key figure in the God of War franchise, working as lead environment artist on the first game, art director for God of War 2 and God of War: Chains of Olympus, and creative director of God of War 3 after Cory Barlog left. Most recently, Asmussen was the game director for both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor at Respawn Entertainment.
