Starting February 3rd, I’ve been diving back into the magical world of Azeroth for the annual Love is in the Air event in World of Warcraft. This yearly celebration gives us gamers a fleeting opportunity to snag some rare loot! The tantalizing X-45 Heartbreaker rocket mount and the freshly introduced Love Witch’s Sweeper broom mount are up for grabs, but be quick – we only have until February 17th to secure them. Keep your fingers crossed as both these goodies have a rather elusive drop rate from the Apothecary Hummel boss encounter!

Yearly during February, the World of Warcraft event titled “Love is in the Air” serves as their version of Valentine’s Day celebration. Originally designed, it was revamped in 2024, and now players within the World of Warcraft universe can gather romantic rewards and earn achievements by attending the Gala of Gifts, which takes place outside Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Special event items such as a Heartseeker Moth pet and a Swift Lovebird mount can be purchased using Love Tokens at the Gala of Gifts. These tokens are earned through completing seasonal quests when the “Love is in the Air” event is active.

Despite the Lunar Festival currently in progress, fans of World of Warcraft now have an opportunity to expand their rare loot collection. As stated in a Blizzard blog post, a new mount – Love Witch’s Sweeper – can potentially drop during the Love is in the Air boss encounter with Apothecary Hummel. This mount can be discovered within a Heart-Shaped Box that is exclusively obtainable by defeating Apothecary Hummel using a powerful character. The fight against the mad scientist and his horde of undead minions can only be initiated through the Dungeon Finder. Additionally, the X-45 Heartbreaker mount could also appear in the Heart-Shaped Box.

World of Warcraft Players Have Two Weeks to Get a Pair of Rare Mounts

Introduced in The War Within, Love Tokens have been renamed as Warbound, allowing characters on the same account to trade them. Participating in the Love is in the Air event in World of Warcraft can help players advance towards the February 2025 Trading Post reward track.

After receiving player feedback, Blizzard boosted the likelihood of players getting the X-45 Heartbreaker mount when they won their first daily battle against Apothecary Hummel each day. However, the drop rate decreases until 11:00 AM Eastern, as daily tasks in World of Warcraft are reset at that time. It remains to be seen how rare the Love Witch’s Sweeper will be compared to the infamous X-45 Heartbreaker.
