According to their most recent financial reports, Electronic Arts (EA) intends to release the upcoming Battlefield game prior to April 1, 2026.

This week, EA unveiled Battlefield Labs – a fresh community testing ground for trying out the game before its official launch. At present, it appears that Battlefield Labs will primarily concentrate on the multiplayer aspect of the game. However, it’s worth noting that Battlefield is also gearing up to offer a free-to-play Battle Royale mode developed by Ripple Effect.
Furthermore, during a sneak peek at Battlefield Labs, it was revealed that the popular feature, Battlefield Portal, will make a comeback. This feature, initially presented in Battlefield 2042, allows for the reintroduction of classic maps, vehicles, weapons, and additional content.

The upcoming Battlefield game is planned to go back to the original essence of the series, drawing significant influence from the beloved eras of Battlefield, particularly Battlefield 3 and 4. Key features like modern warfare settings, character classes, and destructible environments will make a comeback.
In response to the underwhelming debut of Battlefield 2042, leadership of the Battlefield series has been handed over to Vince Zampella from Respawn Entertainment for its reorganization.
