One Piece: How Rich Would The Straw Hats Be If They Collected Each Bounty?

Summary

  • Bounties in One Piece can’t be claimed by criminals, limiting the Straw Hat Pirates’ income potential.
  • Each member’s potential bounty amounts are calculated, with Luffy having the highest at 7.7 billion Berries.
  • If the Straw Hats could claim bounties, they would be far richer, even Chopper’s 8.6 million Berries would be significant.

As an ardent follower of One Piece, I must confess that financial struggles were a recurring theme, especially in the initial phases of our grand pirate adventure. For a considerable chunk of the series’ first half, our crew was perpetually at sea, scouring for any hidden riches to sustain ourselves. Regrettably, it seemed like fate had it out for us, as the treasures we stumbled upon would inexplicably vanish shortly after discovery, forcing us back to square one yet again.

As a die-hard One Piece fanatic, I’ve often pondered why the Straw Hat Pirates never cash in their captured bounties, seeing as it could fund our grand pirate escapades. Alas, being lawbreakers ourselves, claiming bounties is a pipe dream for any pirate crew. Yet, this conundrum has sparked intriguing thoughts – what if, instead of pirates, the Straw Hats were One Piece’s bounty hunters, roaming the seas to vanquish villains and pocket their rewards? This leads me to wonder: just how wealthy would the Straw Hats be if they could collect every bounty they encountered?

Bounties In One Piece Can’t Be Claimed By Criminals

Luffy And His Crew Never Get Their Reward

In the animated series “One Piece,” the Bounty System functions as a payment method for individuals who capture criminals, as designated by the Navy and World Government. Interestingly, in this world, those who are outlaws or part of the Navy (which includes many of the strongest characters) cannot claim these bounties. Consequently, it appears that the Navy seldom awards bounties when certain pirates are defeated across the entire series.

Brook Hasn’t Single-Handedly Defeated A Bounty Target

  • Brook Couldn’t Claim A Single Bounty In One Piece
  • Other Straw Hats Could Claim A substantial Amount Totaling In The Billions

Observing a post on Reddit by qwertyx236, I noticed an interesting breakdown of the potential earnings for each Straw Hat crew member based on the pirates they’ve defeated. At the bottom of the list is Brook, who, unfortunately, hasn’t defeated any pirates yet, as part of the Straw Hats, leaving him with no bounties.

Robin and Jinbe are a bit higher up. Robin, with her potential targets limited to Black Maria from the Beast Pirates and Who’s-Who, has a total of 480 million Berries. Jinbe, on the other hand, who could claim the bounties of those two pirates as well, stands at 546 million Berries.

Next in line is Chopper, who, along with Usopp, took down Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 4. However, since they worked together, the value was split between them, leaving Chopper with only 8.6 million Berries.

Moving on to Usopp, he frequently plays a secondary role in battles. Nevertheless, his contributions towards defeating characters like Ulti, Mr. 4, and Mr. 5 earn him shared bounties with Nami, Chopper, and Zoro, totaling 219 million Berries for himself. In the Wano Arc, Nami successfully defeated Ulti, Miss Doublefinger, and Miss Valentine, which could potentially increase her bounty to approximately 239 million Berries if she manages to collect these bounties. Lastly, Franky’s victories over Señor Pink (one of the Cool Brothers) and Sasaki grant him a massive 550 million Berries, with a substantial portion attributed to Sasaki himself.

Luffy Far Surpasses Any Other Straw Hat

Shifting gears to the trio of beasts, Sanji hasn’t fought many enemies with large bounties, but vanquishing Queen would earn him approximately 1.3 billion Berries, with a bit coming from Mr. 2 and Kuroobi, the Fishman, adding up to a total of around 1.36 billion in all. Regarding One Piece’s formidable swordsman, Zoro, the bounty hunter has subdued roughly six pirates with substantial bounties, including notable figures like King and Pika. If he were to collect these bounties, Zoro would have around 1.5 billion Berries under his belt.

In summary, as the captain of his crew, Luffy has vanquished numerous pirates in the world of One Piece, some with substantial bounties on their heads. If he were to successfully capture and claim these pirates, he would amass a significant fortune. For instance, from the early series, defeating Buggy to Crocodile (who still held his original bounty of 81 million Berries) would provide a decent income. However, if Luffy were able to defeat and claim the bounties of Gecko Moria, Caesar Clown, Doflamingo, Cracker, Katakuri, and Kaido, he would become incredibly wealthy with a total of 7.7 billion Berries.

In summary, should the Straw Hats receive bounties from One Piece, they would amass an unprecedented fortune. Even Chopper, with his relatively small reward of 8.6 million Berries, could live comfortably for some time. Yet, the idea of possessing billions of Berries in prize money might be a bit extravagant for the humble Straw Hat Pirates within the world of One Piece.
