- The game’s release may include DLC with added characters and bosses, coming May 30.
If you weren’t aware, the initial Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test began today, but unfortunately, it seems that players spent more time battling server issues rather than engaging real adversaries.
As a fellow PlayStation 5 enthusiast, I must admit, it seems like we struck gold when we got to play. However, many of us encountered server issues from the outset, making gameplay quite challenging. The troubles were so severe that FromSoftware felt compelled to offer sincere apologies on their social media platforms.
Elden Ring Nightreign’s First Network Test Off Doesn’t Go As Planned

Through their Twitter account, the official Elden Ring team shared that they were experiencing server troubles due to maintenance on PlayStation platforms. This proved challenging as the testing period for the game was only three hours long, leaving little time for players to log in and try out the game.
It seems that the problem with the Elden Ring game is due to overcrowding on the server. The FromSoftware team has expressed their apologies to the players, explaining that the game servers are currently experiencing heavy traffic, making it difficult to find matches. They encourage everyone to try again later and express their sincere regret for any inconvenience this may cause.
Due to server problems, FromSoftware is contemplating organizing another Network Testing session. As of now, it’s uncertain if this plan will come to fruition, but we can expect an update on the matter shortly.
Aside from today, there are two more days for the test planned:
- Session 1: Feb 14th, 3am to 6 am PT
- Session 2: Feb 14th, 7pm to 10 pm PT
- Session 3: Feb 15th, 11am to 2pm PT
- Session 4: Feb 16th, 3am to 6 am PT
- Session 5: Feb 16th, 7pm to 10 pm PT
Ideally, FromSoftware could extend the gameplay sessions a bit more, ideally by adding additional days or simply making each session last longer than three hours.
Before the game’s official release, details about some Downloadable Content (DLC) have inadvertently been revealed on its Steam page. These plans suggest that the game will feature new playable characters and bosses.
Elden Ring Nightreign will be released on May 30 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
