- Back in 2023, Phil Spencer suggested that TES 6 is at least five years away from release.
It’s possible that Bethesda could unveil The Elder Scrolls 6 as soon as July 2025, according to a trusted source. This assertion was included in a comprehensive report about TES 6 which also disclosed numerous fresh supposed specifics regarding the upcoming game.
As we approach the 14th anniversary of “Skyrim”, there’s still no sign of its successor on the horizon. The initial teaser for the next “TES 6” came out seven years ago, on June 10, and it was just a 36-second video made from pre-rendered footage. Bethesda has been tight-lipped about the project since its announcement, largely because they’ve been working diligently on finishing “Starfield”, which was scheduled for completion by late 2023.
According to Extas1s, it seems like we might be breaking the long-standing silence on TES 6 soon. In his latest YouTube video, this Spanish content creator and known Xbox insider hinted at the possibility of Bethesda showing a sneak peek of the game as early as this summer. He based this on anonymous sources, suggesting that the first genuine glimpse of the game could materialize in July 2025.
Summer 2025 Seems a Bit Optimistic for a TES 6 Trailer
Given what we know about the development of The Elder Scrolls VI so far, the suggested trailer release timing might be a bit ambitious. After all, while the sequel to Skyrim was announced in 2018, it’s spent most of the ensuing years in pre-production. Active development on TES 6 didn’t begin until October 2023, following the September release of Starfield. It’s important to note that a significant portion of Starfield’s development time was dedicated to revamping the Creation Engine – something Bethesda doesn’t do for every game. Therefore, while summer 2025 might seem like an early date for the first TES 6 trailer, it’s not entirely implausible given that the game is expected to be completed more quickly than Starfield.
TES 6 Will Reportedly Have at Least a Dozen Large Cities
In his February 20th video, the Spanish YouTuber shared additional speculated information about the project. Among other things, he mentioned that TES 6 is rumored to have at least a dozen significant cities. Additionally, it’s said that dragons from Skyrim will likely return in the upcoming RPG, alongside flexible leveling mechanics that are not class-based but rather progress based on activities. It’s also suggested that TES 6 could include naval battles and a shipbuilding system similar to the one in Starfield. Previous reports about the game being set in Hammerfell and High Rock were further emphasized by Extas1s as well.
If Bethesda officially reveals The Elder Scrolls 6 in summer 2025, it could be a sign that they are planning to launch the game towards the end of this console generation or at the beginning of the next one. In June 2023, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, described The Elder Scrolls 6 as a game that is more than five years away during his testimony regarding the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
