While playing through “Hello Kitty Island Adventure“, you might have observed that no rain falls on Friendship Island. To initiate different weather conditions, you need to accomplish missions and boost your relationships with characters like Retsuko. This is crucial because certain items, creatures, and fish become available only during rainfall. Therefore, it’s important to figure out how to fix the Aquafaller Machine in “Hello Kitty Island Adventure” to unlock rainy weather.

How to Unlock the Aquafall Machine
In the game “Island Adventure”, you can bring rain by completing two tasks. If during your journey you’ve visited Rainbow Reef, you might have spotted mechanical parts to the east of the Kelp Maze. This is a damaged waterfall machine, essential for restoring rain on the island. However, it cannot be repaired unless you’ve finished specific missions first.

After wrapping up my swimming lessons with Retsuko, I can spot her lounging on the sandy shores of Mount Hothead (or Moon Island, should I dive right into our next adventure immediately post-lessons). There, she’s kickstarted a fresh mission entitled “A Clue On The Shore.” Seems like Retsuko stumbled upon a mysteriously locked chest during her stroll, and inside it lies a treasure map. However, to decode this tantalizing artifact, I’ll need some backup from my fellow gamers!
Speak to the following characters, then return to Retsuko to continue the quest:
- Badtz-maru
- Chococat
- Pekkle
- Keroppi
Later on, your destination will be marked as ‘X’ on the map, located east of the Kelp Maze. At this spot, you’ll come across a puzzling device. Subsequently, look for Chococat in the vicinity of the Resort Gate, and he’ll provide you with a list of items required to mend the machine.
To fix the Aquafaller, you’ll need x10 Beeswax, x10 Ingot, x10 Mechanism, and x10 Woodblock.
- x1 Beeswax can be crafted from x2 Honeycomb, which you’ll receive from Wish me mell if you give her a gift.
- x1 Ingot requires x3 Iron Ore, which you can find outside the Red Hot Ruins and on the shore of Mount Hothead. You can also find several pieces of Iron Ore inside the Gemstone Mine of Gemstone Mountain.
- x1 Mechanism can be crafted from x3 Gizmo, which are items you’ll receive from Chococat if you give him a gift.
- x1 Woodblock can be crafted from x5 Sticks or x7 Coconuts.
Give Chococat the required materials to repair the Aquafaller Machine and complete the quest.
“Island Stone” Walkthrough
How to Craft the Rain Island Stone
Unfortunately, fixing the machine alone won’t do the trick; what you really need is a special item known as a “Rain Island Stone”. You’ll find the crafting plans for this elusive stone in the “Island Stone” quest, which you can embark on right away by approaching Chococat near “A Clue On The Shore” and striking up a conversation with him.
To craft a Rain Island Stone, you’ll need these materials:
- x100 Seashell
- x50 Chocolate Coin
- x5 Spark
Crafting the stone will lead you into the third part of the questline: “Rain or Shine.”
How to Make It Rain in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Complete “Rain or Shine” Quest
To begin the game “Rain or Shine”, first, create your initial Rain Island Stone. Then, speak with Chococat once more, and he’ll guide you to the Aquafall Machine. Use the machine (when you have a Rain Island Stone) and it will start bubbling. Afterward, head back to the Seaside Resort, where you’ll observe that it’s now raining.
When it’s raining, keep an eye out for blooming blue buds. Watering these will yield Raindrops, a unique material only available during weather events, which can be used in crafting. Additionally, you might discover the recipe for Fast Flippers.
Once “Rain or Shine” is finished, there’s a chance for rain across any of the four islands at random selection. Since only one location can have rain at once, if it’s raining at Seaside Resort, no other place will be experiencing rainfall. The duration of each rain spell is approximately 15 minutes in real-world time.
Pausing your game allows you to check the weather update. If rain is forecasted, you’ll notice a raincloud icon appearing in the “Future” section on the left part of the screen. When it begins to drizzle, you’ll get a notification at the top of the screen, specifying the area where it’s raining.
To artificially create rainfall, you could utilize the AquaFall Machine. But, keep in mind that you would require one Rain Island Stone for this process. Also, remember that you’re allowed to operate the AquaFall Machine only once per week.
