In Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s common knowledge that we go after monstrous beasts. Could they potentially be domesticated instead? Let’s find out in this article.
In truth, who wouldn’t dream of having a colossal beast as a pet? Regrettably, that’s just wishful thinking in real life. However, one might ponder if the creators of Monster Hunter Wilds will ever let players domesticate more monsters beyond their mounts in the upcoming edition. Yet, I regret to inform you that there is no taming mechanism in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Taming Monsters Is Not Possible in Monster Hunter Wilds
In contrast to spin-off games such as Monster Hunter: Stories, taming systems are not typically found in the main series of Monster Hunter. Instead, players can either slay or capture monsters and bring them back. With the upcoming additions to the game, fans have expressed their hope for a taming feature, but it has been confirmed that there is no taming option available in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Although we can’t predict exactly what lies ahead once the game launches on February 28, 2025, it’s important to acknowledge that there remains a glimmer of possibility for fans. Yet, considering the development timeline, it’s not very likely that the developers will introduce such a significant feature to the game immediately.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled that, even though I can’t tame monsters at the moment in Monster Hunter Worlds, I can still capture them! On my exciting quest, I might find a monster or two that I simply adore and want to keep by my side. Fortunately, the developers have considered this possibility, so I can capture these creatures and bring them back to my arena in Wounded Hollow. The most delightful part is that, unlike some earlier games, the monsters I capture stay with me permanently in Monster Hunter Worlds!
Conclusion
Beyond that, Monster Hunter Rise included a feature called Wyvern Riding, enabling players to briefly take command and utilize monsters. It’s unclear as to why this feature is missing from the most recent edition. Regrettably, even if fans had hoped for Wyvern Riding or Taming Mechanic in Monster Hunter Wilds, it appears unlikely that such a feature will be introduced in future updates or patches.
