Why the US Could Be Riding Bitcoin Into a $10 Trillion Future 🤑

Michael Saylor—Bitcoin‘s unofficial hype man and probably the guy who’d turn his laundry into NFTs if he could—took to social media (surprise, surprise) to address his legions of followers like a blockchain prophet on a mission.

In his latest episode of “Michael Saylor Explains It All,” he dropped a video of his speech at the Bitcoin Policy Institute, where he waxed poetic about why Donald Trump’s approval of the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve (SBR) isn’t just policy—it’s destiny. It feels like the plot twist you didn’t ask for in a political drama but now can’t stop watching.

Oh, and sitting right next to him, cheering him on like a hypewoman at a crypto pep rally? None other than Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, the state that probably has more “HODL” bumper stickers per capita than anywhere else.

Michael Saylor: Bitcoin, Maps, and Manhattan Real Estate Analogies 🏙️

With the enthusiasm of a man who’s clearly named his router “Satoshi,” Saylor declared the SBR a cornerstone for ensuring America’s dominance in the coming digital age. According to him, Bitcoin isn’t just digital currency; it’s like the land under Manhattan, but shinier, virtual, and a lot harder to walk on.

The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve represents a strategy for U.S. digital supremacy in the 21st century. In this presentation, I discuss why Bitcoin is critical to our nation’s prosperity and how America can become the global Bitcoin superpower.

Saylor likened Bitcoin to owning Manhattan real estate in a digital form. You wouldn’t sell the land carelessly to cover rent, right? You’d develop it, borrow against it, or maybe build a Starbucks on every corner. Similarly, he argued, Bitcoin offers endless possibilities. Meanwhile, other assets—like cheese or natural gas—just sit there, metaphorically waving their tiny hands, hoping to be useful.

He even predicted that your online banking experience is going to rely on Bitcoin’s network for things like security, integrity, and—a key one—financial settlement. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want their bank to be as unhackable as Elon Musk’s Twitter account? Oh, wait. Never mind. 🙃

SBR: A $10 Trillion Annual Piggy Bank, Apparently 🐷💰

Saylor didn’t stop there. Oh no. By 2045, he predicted, the US could rake in over $10 trillion a year by monetizing its Bitcoin stash—renting it out, developing new uses for it, or maybe just flexing it at economic summits. (Take that, other global currencies!)

He also went full “sci-fi channel meets stock market,” claiming the AI economy of the future—a $100 trillion beast—will run entirely on digital property, a.k.a. Bitcoin. And yes, in case you were wondering, he also threw Elon Musk’s name into the mix, because obviously, no conversation about tech is complete without invoking the Tesla overlord. Musk, according to Saylor, said Bitcoin’s cryptographic architecture is so unhackable, even the world’s smartest AI would probably give up mid-hack and start mining Dogecoin instead.

In conclusion, Saylor is ready to bet America’s future prosperity on Bitcoin, and given his track record, he’d probably put his next grocery bill on the blockchain too. Is the US ready to bet big on crypto, or will this end up being the most expensive experiment since New Coke? Only time (and probably a viral meme or two) will tell. 😉
