Pokemon GO: Get Shiny Smeargle By Taking Snapshots

2025 participants at the Pokemon GO Festival of Colors will have the chance to come across a Shiny version of Smeargle. However, it’s important to note that there isn’t a guaranteed Shiny encounter – you must align with Smeargle’s Shiny odds. During the event, snapping a photo will result in Smeargle photobombing and potentially spawning nearby. Although Smeargle only appears a limited number of times, you can attempt to find it every day of the event to possibly spawn multiple Smeargles and improve your chances of encountering its Shiny form.

Steps To Take Snapshots And Get Shiny Smeargle

  • Open your Pokemon GO storage and select a Pokemon to photograph.
  • Tap the Pokemon, then tap the camera icon to enter snapshot mode.
  • Take multiple photos, one at a time. If Smeargle appears, it will photobomb the first picture of the session. If not, exit the camera and try again.
  • Review your photos. If Smeargle photobombed, you’ll see it in one of the pictures. A quick flash might indicate its appearance.
  • If Smeargle appears in a photo, close the camera mode.
  • Either Pokemon GO Smeargle or Shiny Smeargle will spawn next to your avatar.
