June looks like it will be an exciting month for gamers, especially with events like Summer Game Fest happening. PlayStation fans have even more to look forward to! Not only is PlayStation holding its next State of Play presentation on June 2nd, but that’s also when the free monthly games for PlayStation Plus subscribers will be released. These free games, which are part of the Essential tier, will be announced on May 27th and then become available to play on June 2nd.
PlayStation’s upcoming event might share details about the games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium. They’ve done this before, revealing Premium games a few months in advance. June is a significant month for PlayStation, so fans are hoping for a great selection of games across all PS Plus tiers. Typically, the Essential tier offers a decent selection, Extra is the most popular, and Premium has a more limited appeal, but there’s potential to provide good value to subscribers on every level.
PS Plus Free Game for June 2026: Lies of P
Lies of P would be a fantastic addition to the PS Plus Essential lineup, particularly because it appeals to a specific gaming audience. PlayStation’s strategy of offering a variety of games each month is smart, and including Lies of P would be a great win for fans of soulslike games. This game puts a dark and twisted spin on the classic Pinocchio story, featuring challenging combat, unsettling enemies, and memorable boss battles. While clearly inspired by games like Bloodborne, Lies of P stands out with its unique weapon customization and a striking, dark Belle Epoque atmosphere. Ultimately, it’s one of the best soulslike games not made by FromSoftware in recent years, and its inclusion would be a major highlight for any PS Plus release.
- Dark Pinocchio-inspired world with strong gothic horror vibes
- Challenging combat focused on dodging and perfect parries
- Excellent boss fights
- Strong weapon line-up
- Could dominate PS Plus headlines without overshadowing the State of Play

PS Plus Free Game for June 2026 – RoboCop: Rogue City
RoboCop: Rogue City is a solid, mid-range first-person shooter that would fit right in with the games offered on PS Plus. It’s packed with references to the original RoboCop movies, letting players experience the slow, powerful feeling of controlling the iconic cyborg as he restores order to Old Detroit. The combat feels deliberately heavy and emphasizes RoboCop’s strength over speed, which is a great choice for this game. It fully delivers on the fantasy of being an unstoppable police force. With some light RPG features and a tone that stays true to the source material, it’s a strong contender for any PS Plus lineup.
- Faithful RoboCop fantasy with strong ties to the original films
- Slow, heavy combat that emphasizes power over speed
- Open-ish hub structure set in Old Detroit
- Light RPG element
- The kind of solid AA shooter that benefits from PS Plus exposure
PS Plus Free Game for June 2026: Animal Well
First-person shooters and ‘Souls-like’ games are really popular right now, and they’re moving beyond just being for dedicated fans. PlayStation Plus often features smaller, hidden gems that players might miss, and Animal Well seems like the perfect game to appear as a surprise. It looks straightforward initially, but it quickly becomes a unique experience filled with exploration, experimentation, and layers upon layers of secrets. It would be a great option for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the many new games coming out in June.
- Atmospheric pixel-art exploration with a mysterious tone
- No combat-heavy structure
- Encourages community involvement due to hidden layers of content
- Minimalist presentation that hides surprising depth
- Perfect “word of mouth” PS Plus game that grows over time
PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for June 2026 Wish List
As a PlayStation Plus fan, I’m really excited to see what June brings to the Extra tier – it’s usually packed with great games! I’m hoping we’ll get a huge title like Final Fantasy 16 – it would be a perfect fit and timed really well. I also think adding the Alan Wake games would be smart, especially with Control Resonant coming out soon – it’d give that game a nice boost. Control just left the service, so bringing Alan Wake back wouldn’t be that surprising, and PlayStation Plus has definitely offered games more than once before. I’d also love to see some bigger titles in specific genres, like Mortal Kombat 1 or Armored Combat 6. And maybe Suicide Squad could get another chance on PS Plus – there’s always room for that!
- Final Fantasy 16
- Alan Wake/Alan Wake 2
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
- Armored Core 6
- Resistance: Fall of Man (Premium)
- Dino Crisis 2 (Premium)
I doubt PlayStation Plus Premium will release two games in a single month again, but adding classics like Resistance: Fall of Man and Dino Crisis 2 would be a great way to appeal to players’ nostalgia in the near future.
