PlayStation 5 owners who enjoyed the Batman: Arkham games have a new option that captures a similar feel. You can still play the original Batman: Arkham titles on PS5 either by using older game discs or through a PlayStation Plus subscription.
As a Batman fan, I’m stoked that I can play a bunch of the Arkham games on my PS5! The first two, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, got remastered for PS4 and work great. Arkham Knight was already a PS4 game, so that was a no-brainer. If you’ve still got a PSVR headset from the PS4 days and an adapter, you can even jump into Arkham VR on the PS5. Arkham Origins never made it to PS4, but it’s available if you have PlayStation Plus Premium. And speaking of Premium, that subscription unlocks Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Origins, and even the original LEGO Batman trilogy! It’s a great time to be a Bat-fan!
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Has Serious Arkham Vibes
Previous LEGO Batman games were enjoyable, but felt like standard LEGO games dressed up with a Batman theme. The new LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight feels more like a true Batman game built with LEGOs. It has a redesigned combat system inspired by the Batman: Arkham series, and its storytelling is much closer to the style of Arkham, offering a respectful take on Batman lore. This allows it to tell a fresh, yet recognizable Batman story, all while keeping the lighthearted LEGO humor we love.

I really appreciate how much this LEGO Batman game, Legacy of the Dark Knight, respects the history of Batman. It pulls from all sorts of different Batman stories – the tutorial even has Bruce training with Ra’s al Ghul like in Batman Begins, and the Penguin is totally based on Danny DeVito’s version from Batman Returns. Honestly, playing it feels like a celebration of everything Batman, and that’s what I loved about the Arkham games too. If you’re a Batman fan who hasn’t really gotten into the other LEGO Batman games, you should definitely give this one a try – I think you’ll really enjoy it.
What About a New Batman: Arkham Game?
Some players might prefer a darker, more realistic Batman experience like the Batman: Arkham games, and might not be thrilled with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. While a new Batman: Arkham game hasn’t been officially announced, leaks suggest one is in development at Rocksteady, especially after the mixed reception to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. PlayStation is reportedly providing financial support for the project, which could mean it initially launches as a PlayStation exclusive. However, fans should hold off on making assumptions until official details are revealed.

I’m really eager to find out when we’ll get a glimpse of the new Batman: Arkham game, but until then, I’m checking out LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Everyone’s saying it’s fantastic, and it’s cool to see how much it borrows from the Arkham games. It seems like a perfect way for us Batman fans to have some fun while we’re all waiting for news about what’s next!
