Trump Mobile Looking Into Massive Data Leak

Trump Mobile, the new phone company started by Donald Trump, has recently been caught up in some issues. Customers initially complained that they couldn’t get help from Trump Mobile when trying to find out when their T1 smartphones would be delivered. Now, the company is dealing with a serious problem: a data leak that exposed personal information of thousands of people due to a mistake on their website.

Digital Trends reports that Trump Mobile is looking into a possible data leak after customer information – including names, addresses, and phone numbers of those who pre-ordered – was found online. It appears the leak happened due to a mistake on the company’s website, stemming from a security flaw with a third-party service they use.

Despite a security flaw on its website, Trump Mobile stated to The Guardian that user information remained safe.

The recent data leak is the latest issue for the T1 smartphone, which has already faced a lot of criticism. NBC News reported that the T1 appears to be almost identical to the HTC U24 Pro, leading many to believe it’s a repackaged device. This has sparked accusations of a scam, similar to what happened last year with Soulja Boy’s handheld console, which turned out to be a rebranded version of an existing Retroid handheld.

The issues with Trump Mobile gained wider attention after YouTubers penguinz0 and Coffeezilla, both of whom had their data exposed in the breach, highlighted the company’s practices. Trump Mobile hasn’t responded to the data leak or addressed its history of problems.
