How to Complete All Against the Odds Challenges in 007 First Light

Okay, so I’m diving into 007 First Light, and the first mission, ‘Against the Odds,’ has nine challenges. It can be pretty tricky since it’s the very beginning of the game, and I really want that Iceland outfit you get for finishing everything. That’s why I’m so glad there are walkthroughs for each challenge – it’s going to be a huge help getting through them all!

Against the Odds Challenges Overview in 007 First Light

Challenge	Description	How to Complete
Pacifist: Against the Odds	Go through the central camp, taking down only two soldiers.	The only two soldiers to take down are the ones in B4 and G9. If you take anyone else down, restart the checkpoint.
Ghost: Against the Odds	Go through the central camp without getting spotted.	This is easily done with the Pacifist challenge. Just stick to the edges of the map and use the antenna to zipline to B4 and G9.
Assault: Against the Odds	Fight 4 soldiers without alerting the camp.	Soldiers can one-shot you, and there are 4 specific soldiers we recommend you fight. You can find more details below.
No Help Needed	Go through the central camp without using any distractions.	Avoid using the BT65 (left with G9) and the ATV (right with B4)
Full of surprises	Use the BT65 and the ATV to distract the Arrowhead soldiers.	The BT65 can be found on the left path, to the right of the front door to G9, whereas the ATV can be found to the right, on the path to B4.
00 to Become	Take down 7 soldiers without getting spotted in the central camp.	There are 8 soldiers that you can take down without being spotted, and we have a walkthrough below for you to follow.
High Ground	Take down 3 soldiers from above in the central camp.	There are 3 soldiers you can take down from above. The first is in G9, so enter from the roof. The second is outside G9 once you’ve freed the captives, so head back to the roof. The third needs to be lured into the crevice from G9.
Scenic Route	Use the zipline in central camp.	After the cutscene where you have the objective to save the captives, head forward and climb up F8 to find an antenna. All the way at the top, you can jump to use the zipline.

How to Complete Pacifist, Ghost, and No Help Needed Challenges in 007 First Light

We finished the game on Pacifist, Ghost, and No Help Needed modes all in one run! You can watch the video above to see exactly how we did it and learn how to do it yourself.

When you start, immediately head into B2. Don’t bother attacking the guard inside; just head out the door on the right.
Immediately head left into the tall grass. Head forwards, past the crates, and stick to the right, where you can drop down into a crevice.
Follow the crevice to the right, and you can then climb inside B4.
Take down the guard inside B4, as this is the first guard you need to eliminate for the Pacifist challenge.
After picking up the detonator, one of the M16 Captives will activate a ladder for you to climb up.
Climb the ladder and drop down back into the crevice, and follow the path to the left so you reach the other side.
You can find a rocky ledge here that you can climb to the top, and shimmy over, where you can then leap from the cliff to the G9 container.
There’s a hatch on the ceiling that you can use to take down the final guard (the last guard for your Pacifist challenge).
Take the Storage Key he drops, and open the interior to free the captives.
Exit via the back door in G9, and the guards will now be distracted. You can just head to the left, back the way you came, and return to the crevice to make your way back to B4. You can climb up B4 and interact with the wires.

Interacting with the wires will complete Pacifist, Ghost, and No Help Needed.

How to Complete the Full of Surprises Challenge in 007 First Light

Starting at the beginning of the map, move forward into area B2. Once inside, go through the door on your right. Stay close to the crates for cover, and you’ll find the ATV at the end. You can disable it using the Y button (or Triangle on PlayStation).

Go back to where you started, then turn left. You’ll see a rocky path you can climb to get past the enemies below. Once you’re up, head right to reach the front of G9. Keep going to the right, and you’ll find the BT65 Control Station – you can activate it using the Y button on Xbox or the Triangle button on PlayStation.

How to Complete Assault: Against the Odds Challenge in 007 First Light

Your goal is to defeat four soldiers stealthily – without raising an alarm or dying. There’s one precise method to complete this mission, which we demonstrate in the video. If you prefer, you can find detailed instructions below.

Head inside B2, but instead of using a silent takedown, run behind the guard so he turns around and fight him.
Head inside B4, but instead of using a silent takedown, approach the guard and fight him.
Head into the crevice from B4 to G9, but take a left and use a silent takedown on two guards, then run into the third guard and fight him.
Head to the roof of G9 and take down the guard inside, then, after freeing the captives, head out the back door of G9 and perform a silent takedown on one of the guards and fight the remaining one.

How to Complete the High Ground Challenge in 007 First Light

You’ll find the three soldiers you need to take down from above on the left side, near grid coordinate G9.

The first soldier needs to be lured into the crevice just before G9, so make his suspicion bar rise to yellow, then hide so he drops in. Now, climb out of the crevice and look below him to perform a takedown.
The second soldier requires you to climb the rocks so you can reach the rooftop of G9. You can now look down into the hatch at G9 to find this guard standing below you.
The third soldier is at the back of G9. While there are two of them, you can only get one of them via the rooftop of G9, and with the third one defeated from above, you’ll get this challenge.

How to Complete the 00 to Become Challenge in 007 First Light

If you follow the route shown in the video, you’ll reach this challenge. It asks you to take down seven guards one after another without being seen, so you’ll need to be careful and precise with every move.

Take out the guard in B2.
Take out the guard in B4.
Take out the three guards opposite G9.
Climb the roof of G9 and take out the guard inside.
Free the captives, and then take down the remaining 2 guards out the back of G9.

How to Complete the Scenic Route Challenge in 007 First Light

From where you spawn, head forward and look to the right to find F8.
Inside this container is a ladder, and you can use it to get to the roof.
You can now take the ladder to the antenna and press X/A to jump at the top to use the zipline.
