In the game 007 First Light, you often have several ways to complete objectives, but some paths might become unavailable. During James Bond’s training in Malta, you’ll encounter the Compound Basement, a room that offers a shortcut to the flag and a collectible item. This guide will show you how to find the keys to the Compound Basement and where to use them.

How to Get the Compound Basement Keys in 007 First Light

You can find the Compound Basement Keys at the beginning of the “Search the Compound” mission in the “A New Home” chapter of 007 First Light. Once James Bond enters the main compound area of the training facility, he’ll see some soldiers watching TV inside a damaged building.

You can choose to either quietly sneak past the guards and get the key, or fight them first, depending on how you want to approach the situation.

No matter how you go about it, you’ll find the Compound Basement Keys on the left wall inside the building. Once you pick them up, you can unlock a previously inaccessible area of the compound.

Where to use the Compound Basement Keys in 007 First Light

If you’ve found the key and are looking for the Compound Basement, turn right from the building where you discovered it and go past the steps. You’ll reach a balcony with two soldiers talking. Wait for one of them to leave, then carefully sneak past the remaining soldier.

At the end of the hallway, take the stairs down. You’ll find the locked basement door on your left. Use the Compound Basement key from the book 007 First Light to enter.

Head down to the basement, where you’ll encounter three soldiers in a large room. Use your Q-Watch’s features to distract them before engaging. You’ll find the “7 of Roses” collectible card on top of a pallet, along with other useful resources within the Compound Basement.
