The upcoming remake of the popular RPG Persona 4, titled Persona 4 Revival, has received a rating in South Korea, hinting at a release within the next year. Announced by Sega and Atlus during the 2025 Xbox Showcase, Revival is a complete rebuild of the original game with updated graphics, new features, and improvements. Building on the success of Persona 3 Reload, this remake will follow the core story of Persona 4 but with significant enhancements. Similar to how Persona 3 Reload was based on Persona 3 FES, Persona 4 Revival is expected to use Persona 4 Golden as its foundation.
Although Sega hasn’t announced when Persona 4 Revival will be released, their financial reports indicate a target launch sometime in fiscal year 2027 – between April 2026 and March 2027. Considering Persona 3 Reload came out in February 2024, Sega might plan to release Revival around the same time of year. Another possibility is a release during the busy holiday shopping season before the end of 2026.
Persona 4 Revival is Rated in South Korea
A South Korean age rating for Persona 4 Revival has appeared, hinting that an official release date is coming soon. South Korea often rates games well in advance of their launch – for instance, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was rated in August 2024 and released in February 2025, a six-month gap. This suggests Persona 4 Revival could be released in the near future.

Okay, so it looks like Persona 4 Revival just got rated for ages 15 in South Korea – the rating appeared on April 9th, 2026, and was confirmed by April 24th, 2026. That doesn’t guarantee a release date is imminent, but it’s a really good sign! I’m guessing we’ll probably get a new trailer pretty soon. With Summer Game Fest and Gamescom coming up fast, I’m hoping we won’t have to wait too long to see more of this remake. Fingers crossed!
There’s talk that Funko Pops based on Persona 4 might come out in early 2027. If this is true, it could mean a new version of the game, Persona 4 Revival, is also planned for release around the same time. This timeframe aligns with details found in Sega’s financial reports and a game rating from South Korea. However, since the rating was issued in April 2026, it now seems more probable that Revival will launch during the holiday season of 2026, rather than waiting until early 2027.

Everyone has ideas about what they want to see in a remake of Persona 4, and based on how Persona 3 Reload was updated, some changes seem probable. We can expect features like Theurgy and Baton Pass, which were added in later Persona games, and more things to do during free time. The main story and character relationships will probably stay similar, but some of the jokes that were considered insensitive, especially those regarding the LGBTQ+ community, might be revised, just like in Reload. However, beyond improved graphics, the developers haven’t officially announced any other changes to the game.
