Thankfully, the series will have two back-to-back seasons, giving it 24 episodes to adapt the best parts of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga and develop the characters well. As episode 9 nears, Yuru faces a dangerous fight, and it’s uncertain if he’ll survive – especially with a powerful new ability potentially at stake.

Episode 8 of Daemons of the Shadow Realm saw the already shaky truce between the Kagemori and Tadera clans start to fall apart. Yuru is now facing the difficult truth about what it might take to gain the Seal power, especially after learning the shocking details of Asa’s death and how she obtained the Break power. But the most touching moment came when Asa revealed that their parents hadn’t abandoned Yuru by choice, leading to an awkward but heartfelt hug – the most emotional scene of the series so far.
