How Cluemaster Puzzles Work
Solving each Cluemaster Puzzle unlocks a unique collectible box. These puzzles challenge you with tasks like matching symbols, cracking codes with rotating tumblers, and rerouting power – and you’ll need to play as every character to complete them all.
You can find where Cluemaster Puzzles are hidden by turning on district towers. Keep in mind that not all puzzles will show up immediately, as some are locked inside Puzzle Rooms that become available as you solve more puzzles. If you’re looking for a puzzle in a specific district and can’t find it, try completing puzzles in other districts – it should eventually appear on the map.
Do Towers Reveal Cluemaster Puzzles?
Yes, when you’re in a district, towers will show you where Cluemaster Puzzles are on the map, along with other things to collect or do. This makes finding these puzzles easier than finding hidden collectibles like the Bat-Symbols, but you’ll still need to figure out how to solve them yourself.
For more on map-reveal towers, see our All Towers & How to Access Them guide.
Do You Need Specific Characters for Cluemaster Puzzles?
That’s right, certain puzzles in Cluemaster do need specific characters and their unique tools to solve. Although you can start many puzzles with any character, you’ll eventually need items like Robin’s staff, Nightwing’s Electric Cable Launcher, Batgirl’s Hackarang, Batman’s Batclaw, and Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer to complete them.
If you’re stuck on a Cluemaster Puzzle, you might not have unlocked the right character yet. Keep playing the story, and you’ll be able to come back and solve it later. Check out our guide on unlocking all characters for more details on when each one becomes available.
How Cluemaster Puzzle Rooms Unlock
Okay, so I’ve been finding these Cluemaster Puzzle Rooms in some of the districts, and honestly, they’re way harder than the regular Cluemaster Puzzles you stumble across while exploring. The good news is they give you a Cluemaster Puzzle Box when you finish one! They show up on the map as a combined icon – you’ll see both the regular puzzle and puzzle room symbols overlapping. And completing a room counts towards both the district puzzle and puzzle room trackers, which is pretty cool.
Cluemaster Puzzle Rooms become available as you solve puzzles in previous rooms. You might notice fewer puzzle icons appearing in an area, even if there are still puzzles left to find. This simply means you haven’t unlocked the final Puzzle Room for that area yet, so you’ll need to complete puzzles in other parts of Gotham first before returning.
Do Cluemaster Puzzles Count Toward 100% Completion?
Completing Cluemaster Puzzles in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is essential for 100% game completion. There are 60 puzzles hidden throughout Gotham City, and solving them all unlocks the “A Watchful Collector” achievement and finishes the open-world cleanup.
