Okay, so in the 007 First Light mission, “The Past Never Dies,” there are a bunch of ways to get the $100,000 you need for the auction. But honestly, one of them is super annoying. It’s this thing called the Cup Game, and it’s part of the Jewel of Jahari section. I swear, it can be more frustrating than anything else in the mission!

No matter how hard you try, the Cup Game is designed so you’ll always lose. Whether you carefully watch the cup, review the video in slow motion, or check under every cup, you won’t succeed. But the secret to winning is actually quite simple – all you need is the Q-Lens.

How to Win the Cup Game in 007 First Light

  • You can find Aadan next to the shoe stall, which is to the right of the Fighting Pit. You will need to pay $3,500 to attempt the game, but if you win, you’ll get $30,000.

After talking to Aadan and starting the game by pressing X/A, immediately hold down the L1/LB button to turn on the Q-Lens. When Aadan reveals the red jewel, the Q-Lens will highlight it in orange, allowing you to follow it as he moves the cups.

When using the Q-Lens, center the cup for best results. If the jewel isn’t glowing, you haven’t used the Q-Lens properly. Even selecting the middle cup won’t work if the Q-Lens isn’t used correctly, so it’s essential for winning!

The Jewel of Jahari Walkthrough in 007 First Light

When you first arrive at the market, your goal is to earn $100,000. To start, go down the stairs and talk to Nirmala, who owns the pawn shop on the left. Choose the dialogue option “Anything I can do for you?” and you’ll receive a new objective: find the Jewel of Jahari.

To participate in Aadan’s Cup Game, you’ll need to collect $3,500. You can earn this money by fighting in the Fighting Pit, or by stealing from two soldiers near the market. We found that using the Phone Dart was a reliable way to distract them and pickpocket them successfully.

Okay, so I found Aadan – he’s just to the right of the Fighting Pit. You can trade him 3,500 credits for one shot at the Cup Game. But here’s the best part: you actually can win every single time! All you have to do is use the Q-Lens – just hold down L1 (or LB if you’re on Xbox) while you’re playing.

After you obtain the Jewel of Jahari, bring it back to Nirmala. She’ll give you $30,000 as a reward, and you’ll also unlock the Cupped Challenge!
