Valve has announced price increases for the OLED models of the Steam Deck, adding a few hundred dollars to the cost for customers. While the Steam Deck OLED is currently available again, the new prices will be applied to purchases in the US and other regions.
The Steam Deck, released in 2022, quickly became a popular way for people to play their Steam games on the go. While other handheld gaming devices have emerged, Valve’s Steam Deck remains a favorite among both serious PC gamers and those who play casually. When it first launched, the Steam Deck was available in both LCD and OLED versions, but Valve stopped making the LCD model in late 2025.
The Steam Deck Has Just Become More Expensive Across the Globe
Despite ongoing supply challenges throughout 2026, Valve has restocked the Steam Deck OLED in the United States. However, prices have increased. Currently, the 512 GB model costs $789, up from $549 – a $240 difference. The 1TB model has seen an even larger increase, rising from $649 to $949, a $300 jump. This now puts the 1TB Steam Deck OLED at just $50 less than the ASUS ROG Ally X, a major competitor in the handheld gaming market.
