I’ve watched Goku for a long time, and while others might be more powerful now, he remains an incredible martial artist – possibly the most talented in the whole series. He’s a natural; I’ve seen him pick up techniques just from seeing them used once. He’s constantly pushing his body to its limits, and it’s led to some truly devastating moves over the years. What really sets him apart from other fighters in Dragon Ball is how easily he masters even the most difficult attacks – things even stronger characters struggle with.
With his ability to harness God Ki and now fully master Ultra Instinct, Goku’s attacks have become incredibly powerful. He can use techniques created for angels, even the signature attack of the Gods of Destruction, plus a wide range of unique moves he’s picked up from his teachers and battles against the strongest opponents in the universe. At this point, it won’t be long before Goku reasserts himself as the strongest Saiyan in Dragon Ball Super.
7. The Kaioken Doubles Goku’s Power Level, At Minimum
Goku learned the Kaioken technique while training with King Kai, preparing for his battle against Vegeta. Even though Vegeta was much stronger than Goku in his normal state, the Kaioken allowed Goku to even the playing field and temporarily become more powerful. At its lowest level, the Kaioken doubles Goku’s strength, but he can increase it up to twenty times its original power for a huge boost.
In Dragon Ball Super, Goku combines his Super Saiyan Blue transformation with the Kaioken technique, amplified to twenty times its normal power (SSBKKx20), with impressive results. During the Tournament of Destroyers, this combination gave Goku the strength to defeat Hit. Later, in the Tournament of Power, Goku used Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x20 against some of the most powerful fighters in the multiverse, helping him battle incredibly strong opponents while still mastering the Ultra Instinct transformation.
6. Instant Transmission is a Staple of Goku’s Tool Kit For a Reason
After beating Frieza, Goku trained with Pybara on Planet Yardrat and learned the technique Instant Transmission. While only three other characters – Perfect Cell, Kid Buu, and Vegeta – have ever used it, Goku is the only one who’s truly skilled at using it during fights. A great example of this is during the Cell Games, where Goku cleverly used Instant Transmission to launch a Kamehameha attack that would have defeated Cell if he hadn’t been able to regenerate.
During the Granolah the Survivor arc, Goku repeatedly uses Instant Transmission to lure Gas across different planets. This tactic keeps Gas far from Planet Cereal, giving Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah valuable time to get ready for their next fight. Goku is so skilled with Instant Transmission that it’s become his defining move within the story. Without it, the heroes likely wouldn’t have survived this long.

5. Goku’s Transcendent Kamehameha Shook the Demon Realm
Currently, Dragon Ball DAIMA takes place in a separate timeline from Dragon Ball Super. Unless Dragon Ball Super: Beerus changes things to connect them, they won’t be part of the same story. In DAIMA, Goku achieves the Super Saiyan 4 transformation with help from Neva during his fight with Gomah. As Super Saiyan 4, Goku is incredibly powerful, far surpassing Gomah’s strength. However, Goku can’t finish the fight because Gomah is essentially immortal due to a special item called the Tertian Oculus.
During his battle with Gomah, Goku unleashes what is likely his most powerful Kamehameha wave ever. This incredible attack, called the Transcendent Kamehameha, focuses all of Goku’s Super Saiyan 4 power into a single, devastating blast. The force of the attack is so immense that it’s felt across the entire Demon Realm – comparable to the universe-shaking punches exchanged between Goku and Beerus in Dragon Ball Super. Had Gomah not been impervious to damage, Goku’s attack would have instantly destroyed him.
4. The Spirit Bomb Has Infinite Potential
Goku learned the Spirit Bomb from King Kai while training in the afterlife, alongside the Kaioken technique. This attack is different from most because it doesn’t rely solely on Goku’s own energy. Instead, it collects ‘Genki’ – the life force of all living things, including people, animals, and the environment. Early on, during the Saiyan Saga, Goku could only gather a small amount of Genki, resulting in a small Spirit Bomb. However, by the end of Dragon Ball Z, he became powerful enough to collect so much Genki from Earth that the Spirit Bomb grew to be enormous, almost as big as a star.
During the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super, Goku attempts to defeat Jiren with a Spirit Bomb powered by the energy of Universe 7’s strongest fighters. Although Jiren deflects the attack, the sheer amount of energy within it causes Goku to first achieve Ultra Instinct Sign, giving him a much-needed advantage. As long as there’s energy available, the Spirit Bomb is incredibly powerful and could defeat any opponent.
3. True Ultra Instinct Can Stack Super Saiyan Forms For a Greater Power Boost
Ultra Instinct isn’t simply a transformation; it’s a skill that Goku learns to control. A key part of the Granolah Saga focuses on Whis teaching Goku to use Ultra Instinct as a technique, rather than relying on it as a state of being. During his battles with Granolah and Gas, Goku realizes what Whis meant: by achieving a calm and focused mind, he can combine Ultra Instinct with his Super Saiyan forms. This lets him multiply the power of his strongest God forms while still enjoying the advantages of Ultra Instinct.
During his fight with Gas, Goku gains full control over True Ultra Instinct, meaning he can activate it at will, without needing a calm and focused state of mind. By the time of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero manga adaptation, Goku is using Perfected Ultra Instinct again, suggesting he’s become so skilled with True Ultra Instinct that he can now combine the two forms. This is clearly shown when Gohan Beast forces Goku out of Perfected Ultra Instinct, and Goku immediately activates True Ultra Instinct without difficulty, demonstrating his enhanced mastery.
2. Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form) is the Apex of UI’s Abilities
During the fight with Moro, Goku achieved complete mastery of Ultra Instinct, unlocking its perfected form. A surprising ability of this perfected form is Goku’s Spirit Avatar – a gigantic energy being he creates by releasing all of his life force. This massive form easily defeated Planet Moro, who had already absorbed immense power, posing a threat to the entire multiverse. However, Goku’s Spirit Avatar is difficult to control and remains unstable.
As long as Goku has sufficient energy, he can amplify his strength significantly using his Spirit Avatar. When the enemy, Moro, becomes overwhelmingly powerful, Vegeta transfers Uub’s energy to Goku through a technique called Forced Spirit Fission. This boost empowers Goku’s Perfected Ultra Instinct to such a degree that he can combine his Spirit Avatar with a single punch, delivering a devastating final attack that instantly defeats Moro.
1. Hakai Can Erase Any Opponent From Existence
In the manga version of the Dragon Ball Super storyline featuring Goku Black, Goku demonstrates what is likely the strongest attack in the entire series: Hakai. This technique is a blast of pure destructive energy, able to completely erase anything – or anyone – from existence with minimal effort. Goku’s use of Hakai is particularly noteworthy for several reasons.
Goku didn’t receive any formal training in using destructive energy like Hakai. He only witnessed Beerus use it once and was able to immediately copy the technique, effectively creating his own God of Destruction attack. More importantly, Goku’s Hakai actually works – he almost completely destroys Fused Zamasu, who was an immortal being. He only fails because Zamasu uses Mai as a hostage, and Goku can’t bring himself to kill her.
