‘Breath of The Wild’ And Its DLC is $90 on Nintendo Switch 2

Breath of the Wild and its DLC (Downloadable Content) when played on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve crunched some numbers, and if you’re planning to grab the game and its DLC for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2, it’ll set you back approximately $90.

Nintendo is known for being infamous for never reducing the price of their games, regardless of how long they’ve been around.

$90, Quick Maths

Initially, I came across some fascinating mathematical analyses attributed to Paul Tassi in Forbes. In essence, regardless of the strategies employed while playing on the Nintendo Switch 2, the figure that consistently arises is approximately $90.

If you want to purchase the full version of the game, it costs $70 initially, along with a $20 DLC, totaling $90. If you already own the original Nintendo Switch version and wish to upgrade, you’ll need to buy the game for $60 first. Then, to get the enhanced edition, you’ll spend an extra $10. Add the DLC cost of $20, and you’re back at the $90 price point again.

The news seems to intensify the disappointment surrounding the unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2, as its initial price tag of $450 (potentially rising in the U.S. due to ongoing tariff issues) sparks continuous discussions within the gaming community.

Despite its expected popularity and high demand, I find Nintendo’s pricing strategy a bit tough to swallow, considering the current financial situation. It seems imminent that game prices will increase in the near future.

Even though the new console is likely to sell fast, I don’t like that Nintendo is charging more for it, given our present economic struggles. It looks like we’ll be paying more for games sooner rather than later.
