Wow, it’s only been a week since Forza Horizon 6 launched, and Playground Games just shared some incredible stats about what we, the players, have already accomplished! Everyone was so hyped for this game, and it totally lived up to the expectations. Critics and players alike loved it, and it’s already broken all sorts of records – it’s amazing to be a part of it!
Much of the excitement for Forza Horizon 6 came from its setting in Japan. While the game’s map isn’t a perfect copy of the country, Playground Games created a beautiful and varied landscape, featuring everything from the bright city streets of Tokyo to scenic coastal roads and the lush Takashiro region. Importantly, Forza Horizon 6 differs from previous games in the series by protecting Japan’s cultural landmarks. Players can’t damage temples, cherry blossom trees, or other important cultural sites – a deliberate choice to show respect for Japanese culture and beliefs.
Forza Horizon 6 Players Have Been Very Busy Based on These Stats
Just one week after its release, Forza Horizon 6 is already a huge hit! Playground Games shared some incredible stats showing what players have been up to: over 141 million hours played, more than 20 billion miles driven on the Japan map, and 184 million photos taken. Players have also collectively earned 35 trillion credits, completed 19 million deliveries, unlocked over 18 million festival wristbands, destroyed nearly 380 million mascots, and designed more than 63 million custom car paint jobs.
It’s funny, but players are still talking about a particularly troublesome AI racer nicknamed “bowie knife99.” This AI driver has quickly become something of a villain in Forza Horizon 6, with many online posts detailing how it disrupts races. While Playground Games has responded to complaints about AI opponents being overly aggressive or fast, this is the first time they’ve publicly acknowledged a specific AI driver by name.
Fans are enjoying the newest installment of the popular Forza Horizon series, but the developers at Playground Games are already looking ahead. They’ve thanked players for their support and hinted at future content, including updates to improve the game. In July, players can expect the Italian Passion Car Pack, and even larger downloadable content packs are currently in development.

Despite the continued success of the Forza Horizon franchise, other game studios are now trying to create similar open-world racing games. Interestingly, Playground Games is about to face competition from one of its original founders. Gavin Raeburn, who now runs Lighthouse Games, is developing a new racing title that he believes will surpass Forza Horizon. Feeling limited in his ability to innovate within the Forza Horizon series, Raeburn is confident his studio’s upcoming game will significantly advance the genre with unique and original ideas.
