One Piece: Every Ancient Weapon & Their Location, Explained

Ancient Weapons are a central mystery in the world of One Piece. Introduced during the Arabasta arc, they’re a key puzzle that won’t be fully solved until Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates reach Laugh Tale, the final island. This makes them a fascinating and long-running secret that the author has only hinted at so far.

Fans have learned quite a bit about the Ancient Weapons thanks to recent events in the story. Over the years, Eiichiro Oda has also given clues about where they might be found. Although many mysteries remain, the truth about these powerful weapons is gradually being revealed with each new story arc.

Pluton

Pluton was the first of the Ancient Weapons introduced in the story. We first hear about it during the Arabasta Saga, when Crocodile was searching for it. He discovered that a Poneglyph hidden in Arabasta contained clues to Pluton’s location. Nico Robin learned the truth about the weapon, but she kept it secret from Crocodile.

As a huge One Piece fan, I’m totally fascinated by Pluton! It’s described as this unbelievably powerful warship – seriously, capable of just vaporizing entire islands with a single blast! We don’t have a clear picture of what it actually looks like, which makes it even more mysterious. It came up again during the Water 7 arc when the World Government was desperately searching for its blueprints. Thankfully, Franky destroyed those plans, and Robin, who could have potentially reactivated it, sided against them too. It’s obvious Pluton has insane power, but for now, it remains dormant – a sleeping giant waiting to be awakened, if ever!

Pluton’s Location

During the Arabasta arc of One Piece, the Poneglyph revealing the location of the Ancient Weapon Pluton was discovered. Nico Robin kept this knowledge secret, understanding how dangerous it was and the potential for widespread destruction if it fell into the wrong hands. The World Government is also thought to know where Pluton is hidden. However, the weapon’s true location wasn’t revealed until much later, when the Straw Hat Pirates arrived in Wano Country.

Eiichiro Oda has revealed that the Ancient Weapon Pluton is hidden beneath Wano Country. The call to “Open Wano’s Borders” isn’t just about opening the country to the world, but about releasing Pluton itself. Wano’s borders, which seem to be intentionally built, are keeping the weapon contained. These borders will eventually fall, unleashing Pluton when the time is right. It’s also important to note that Pluton appears to be linked to Momonosuke, who will likely play a crucial role in controlling it.

Poseidon

In the anime and manga One Piece, Poseidon is the second of three powerful ancient weapons to be shown. It was first mentioned near the end of the Fish-Man Island story arc. Robin discovered the truth about Poseidon during this arc, realizing it was hidden on Fish-Man Island. Ultimately, King Neptune revealed that his daughter, Shirahoshi, is actually Poseidon.

Fans were surprised to learn that Poseidon is a living person, not just a powerful weapon. This development gives the Ancient Weapons a more human side, which will become important later in the story. We now know that Poseidon has the ability to control all Sea Kings, and with that power, could potentially destroy the entire world by flooding it.

Poseidon’s Location

Every One Piece fan knows Poseidon’s location: Fishman Island. It’s been there all along. Before Shirahoshi, the power of Poseidon belonged to a previous Mermaid Princess who was friends with Joy Boy. After she passed away, Shirahoshi inherited the title and became the new Poseidon.

Uranus

I recently got a look at Uranus, one of the Ancient Weapons from One Piece, and it’s truly something else. We don’t know a lot about it yet, but it appears to be a massive, ship-like object that can fly. It’s powered by something called the Mother Flame, a creation of Dr. Vegapunk. We actually saw it in action during the Egghead Island arc – it completely destroyed the entire Lulusia Kingdom with just one blast. It was a pretty shocking sight!

I witnessed the aftermath of this Ancient Weapon’s use – a massive hole ripped open in the ocean, strikingly similar to the one created near Enies Lobby. The impact was immediate and global; within a week, sea levels rose a full meter. It was devastating, rendering many islands completely uninhabitable.

Uranus’s Location

The whereabouts of the Ancient Weapon Uranus remain a mystery. However, it’s confirmed that Imu owns it, which isn’t surprising considering their order to destroy the Lulusia Kingdom. The World Government already possesses this incredibly powerful weapon, and with Vegapunk’s help, they now know how to fully unlock its potential. They’ve used it once before, and it’s likely they’ll use it again in the future.
